Introduction
In today’s digital age, businesses and individuals need a strong online presence to reach more people and achieve their goals. This requires a well-designed and functional website. This report will cover our method for developing a website using Wix Website Builder and our sitemap structure decision.
Step 1: Reading the Wix Website Builder Article
I read the article before making the website to comprehend Wix Website Builder’s features, capabilities, and benefits. The article described Wix as a beginner-friendly platform with several templates, drag-and-drop capability, and customization choices. Alike.
Step 2: Familiarizing with Week 9 Learning Information
In addition to the Wix article, I reviewed the course materials’ Week 9 Learning Information. This material helped me understand website development basics and the need for a well-structured sitemap for SEO and user experience.
Step 3: Selecting Wix as the Website Builder Platform
I chose Wix over GoDaddy, Shopify, and WordPress because of its user-friendliness, huge template library, and scalability. Wix’s drag-and-drop capability makes design changes fast and easy Gerstman, (2021).
Step 4: Building the Website
I signed up for a Wix account and started developing a website. Wix provides visually appealing templates for various businesses and niches. I chose a template that fit my website’s purpose and audience to maintain a consistent tone. Next, I customized the template with pertinent content, graphics, and videos. I easily positioned and resized items using drag-and-drop. Wix’s plugins and widgets made adding social media links, contact forms, and interactive elements easy to boost user engagement (Roshan, 2023).
Step 5: Generating the Sitemap
A user-friendly sitemap is essential for arranging the website’s structure and content. Creating a sitemap using Wix was easy. In the “SEO Tools” section, I used the platform’s sitemap generator. The sitemap generator automatically identified all website pages and their hierarchy, making it easier for search engines to index and navigate.
Step 6: Developing the Website Strategy
The website’s approach focused on these elements:
- User-Centric Design: A positive user experience was the main goal. The homepage features contact information, services, and a clear call to action. User pleasure was prioritized via easy navigation and fast loading times.
- Responsive Design: With mobile use rising, I made the website responsive. This scalability across screen sizes would make visiting the website on multiple devices effortless.
- SEO Optimization: I added keywords to content, meta tags, and picture alt texts to boost website visibility. This would boost the website’s SEO and organic visitors.
- Content Strategy: High-quality, informative, and entertaining content was essential. To build an industry reputation, I planned to routinely update the website with blog entries, articles, and client testimonials.
- Social Media Integration: I added buttons to simplify content sharing and build a brand community.
- Analytics and Tracking: Google Analytics would help me track website performance and user activity and optimize the website.
Rationale for Sitemap Structure
Hierarchical sitemaps are simple, intuitive, and easy to navigate; hence they were chosen. Visitors can easily find pages with a hierarchical sitemap Birbal & Taylor, (2020). Search engine crawlers efficiently index the website, improving its SERP visibility. The hierarchical sitemap organized linked pages under parent pages, minimizing bounce rates and user confusion. This layout also helps search engines determine page relevance and hierarchy.
Conclusion
Wix Website Builder made website creation fun. The platform’s user-friendly interface, flexible themes, and advanced features created a beautiful and functional website. User-centric design, SEO optimization, and social media integration maximized the website’s reach. A hierarchical sitemap layout was chosen since it easily organizes content for users and search engines. Building the website and creating the approach taught me much about web development and Internet marketing.
