I know how hard it is to be a leader and a follower because I have been both. I also see how these jobs affect teamwork, performance, and results. As a transformational leader and project manager, I pushed my team to find creative ways to deal with challenging problems. With a clear goal, open communication, and a helpful setting, I made them think outside the box, question what they thought they knew, and try new ways to solve problems. Being happy, strong, and open to change helped us resolve issues and reach our goals.
As an employee in my initial employment, I followed effective follower standards and knew I had to help the leaders reach their goals. In meetings, I commented and did additional tasks to improve team productivity and togetherness. I valued my work and supported team objectives. I also taught followers how to be good followers by staying late to help a colleague, leading a sub-team, or addressing problems creatively.
