Assignment

Challenges and Resolutions

After the completion of my academic studies, there are different things that I consider very important and that I would seek to accomplish. These activities, or rather tasks, are directly linked to my profession in the sense that they help me develop the skills that are specifically needed for me to be a better human resource management manager. Some of these activities that were assigned to me when I was in the organization for my internship include filing crucial documents within the company, writing daily reports, maintaining statistics of customer employees’ welfare, dispatch, evacuation, fee change, and other data, handling customer staff personnel, social security, provident fund, and other procedures and answering questions, creating various customer documents, issuing work tickets to drivers, and completing any other tasks that were assigned to me by the department leaders. Carrying out these different assignments makes collaboration with all employees easy, though there are some members of staff I get to interact with more. Firstly, I interact a lot with financial officers as I get to handle a lot of crucial financial documents. I also work with the marketing officers as well as the technology department to assist in selling the company to potential clients.

In the process of carrying out these different tasks that were assigned to be in my internship period, there are different challenges that I came across and that to a certain extent made the process of performing these tasks to be hard and not easy to accomplish. Some of these challenges that I encountered in this case include the inability to access certain company’s documents that were very crucial when it comes to the process of me carrying out certain tasks such as filling crucial documents within the company. Filling these documents needed that I do get the access to the company’s system which is restricted to only certain people in the department, the process of therefore filling these documents became hard in a way that in order for me to do this task, I needed the approval of my seniors in carrying out this task and this was a problem since it inhibited my efficiency in the process of carrying out this task.

Another challenge that I experienced in the process of carrying out the different assignments that were assigned to me is the fact that many clients and the employees in the company were not familiar with me and therefore performing the tasks such as Handling customer staff personnel, social security, provident fund and other procedures and answering questions was tough since clients and employees didn’t know if they could trust me at first or not. This was therefore a challenge that I experienced in my initial days in my internship which inhibited the process of me completing the tasks that were assigned to me.

My contribution in the department was very significant, the first thing that I did that made a huge impact on the department is the fact that the addition of a new staff meant the workload per person will be reduced and this had a direct impact on the effectiveness of the people that I am working with (Lv et al., 2018).

In as much as the challenges brought about different issues when it came to me fulfilling and carrying out my tasks, the need to come up with a solution that would help in the process of addressing the problems that I faced in the line of me doing my job in the internship was very crucial. After looking at the challenges that I faced in my initial weeks, they were all attributed to the fact that I was new in the company and people did not see me the much. This issue was therefore resolved by the head of the department that I was working in by assigning to me someone who would be more of like a mentor who would help me in the process of ensuring that I become more acquainted and that both employees and the clients that I will be constantly interacting with will get used to me through the help of the mentor who will be assigned to me by the senior person in the department that I was assigned to.

Recommendations

In as much as the organization in this case that I was working in looked perfect in terms of the services and the tasks that the department that I was specifically in was doing, there are some different things that I would recommend that should be done that would help in making the department and the organization as a whole to effective. Some of the recommendations that I had regarding to this include consistency. This in my opinion, is crucial. Consistency necessitates a well-defined corporate sales framework (Lukić, 2016). Although each salesperson may have their own quirks, the same sales procedure must always be followed. The manner a sales rep’s day is planned and managed is also important. Use what works and share what you’ve learned with the rest of the team. In addition, improving efficiency requires a high level of attention. The amount of distractions that lure us away from our everyday objectives seems to be growing all the time. It also doesn’t help that this generation has a notoriously short attention span. Remove the distractions from your current concentration or set aside time in your daily routine to do these activities.

Relationship between the Experiences and the Academic Theories

When I looked at human resource management which was the department that I was assigned in when I was in my internship, I automatically knew that this will involve different tasks such as organizing, planning, coordinating and controlling were some of the things that I would be constantly be involved in the different tasks that I would be doing in the company. Every task that was assigned to me in the internship process and by the senior of the human resource department that I was in directly reflected the academic theories that I had previously learned. It is simpler for corporate leaders to depend on production activities to have a better knowledge of the revenue stream when operations are well handled. They may depend on such constant data to come up with fresh product ideas or discover new strategies to enhance sales.

Relationship with the Leaders of the Organization

The relation that I had with leaders of the organization that I was in in this case was one that was not only professional but also the relationship was very helpful in the process of me completing my internship program (Lukić, 2016). The leaders at all levels in all departments were very supportive and anytime when I had any problems that were related to be having issues either with completing my tasks or even communicating with other employees and clients, the leaders were very accommodative in ensuring that I do perform my tasks easily and in the best way possible. It is therefore from this that I learned a lot from the leaders in this case. Some of the leadership traits that I would seek to implement include the fact that Effective communication. A the leader should be able to connect to and interact with a diverse group of individuals, including those in various jobs, geographies, and social identities.

The quality and effectiveness of interaction among executives inside your organization also has an impact on the success of your corporate strategy. Another characteristic is delegation. Delegating is one of the most critical duties of a leader, yet it may be tough to execute well. The goal isn’t only to give oneself more time; it’s also to assist your direct reports grow, cooperate more effectively, have more autonomy, and make better judgments. The most effective leaders build trust with their teams in order to delegate more effectively.Career choices

After completing my master’s degree, there are many options of careers that I would seek to take but above all my most preferred career choice that I think would suit the skill sets that I do have and that I have gained over the time that I have been studying and doing my internship is to be human resource manager in a company of my choice. Many companies in the recent years have to a larger extent realized the impact that a good human resource management department has when it comes to the process of choosing the right employees that the company should have in the process of ensuring that as a company one does get the right outcomes. In any organization therefore the importance of having a good human resource manager will determine the quality of employees a company will end up having in its workforce. As an individual therefore, it has always been my passion to interact with people and help people not only be allocated to areas that they do fit best but also design ways that would help them develop to be better versions of themselves and even to be better in what that they do in their daily lives.

In my internship I learned a lot about recordkeeping and also critical thinking which are very essential in the process of coming up with standards that have to be followed in the process of coming up with the right workforce. The skills of critical thinking and data analysis are very important for one to be a professional human resource manager. I must therefore think like a human resource manager since it is the responsibility of a human resource manager to synthesize and cover connections that are always not considered to be clear. It is therefore fair to say that after my master’s degree I have had a clearer path when it comes to career choice on what that I am supposed to do in the near future.
