Holy Ghost People Documentary

American documentarian Film Holy Ghost People was helmed by Peter Adair from 1967. It follows a small Pentecostal sect in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. The movie shows their religious practices, which include faith healing, handling snakes, and speaking in tongues. This calling involves making people follow the community in an attempt to have a correct path for example helping the needy. thirdly is the conforming type of experience where this serves as a prove to those outside community that they believe in what the community believes in. Moreso they also believe in signs and proofs in these experiences for example glossolalia is a sign in the movie. this proof serves as a reinforcement to show how the worshippers are having a true experience. Further the Pentecostal worshippers, experience an incredibly intense religious awakening which is focused on speaking in tongues and attempting to connect with God(TV XP,2016).

On the other hand, snake handlers participate in a more physical experience that is focused on in order to test their faith by their ability to handle dangerous snakes. The purpose of deepening their connection to God is, nevertheless, something that both of these groups have in common. Both types of experiences demonstrate the strength that may come from having faith, as well as the significance of each individual locating a religious journey that is suited to their own individual need.
