Environmental sustainability refers to obtaining natural resources and utilising their capacity to cope with pollutants to allow subsequent generations to access identical components. As a result, ecological resilience requires businesses to use ecological materials properly so that they will not be misused. The cornerstone of environmental responsibility, on the other hand, suffers significant obstacles as a result of the materialistic character of business operations. For example, ecological sustainability encounters two impediments due to the requirement to maximise profits and reduce manufacturing expenses (Oláh et al, 2020). To begin with, companies are over-extracting natural resources. This approach results in the scarcity of these resources and significant ecological harm. For example, when extraction activities have been accomplished, most pits and topsoil have been left barren.
The next aspect is that while firms expand their natural resource utilisation, they also emit many hazardous elements into the ecosystem. This has a double-edged consequence in that firms utilise environmental resources but do not replenish them instead of releasing harmful toxins at such a frequency that the globe is incapable of coping with the pace at which such incidents occur. As a result, certain businesses pass on the different costs to their consumers by rising commodity costs. Another destructive way companies react by dodging the regulation and desired level of competence to preserve their ecological sustainability brand (Han, 2021). These operations involve extracting raw resources from the ecosystem and dumping toxic products in a relatively similar ecosystem, as mentioned above. In this sense, ecological sustainability requires a decrease in the pace at which natural resources are harvested and a reduction in the ratio at which contamination occurs. As a result, I’ve discovered various methods, including reusing, reducing waste in manufacturing, and inventing alternate resources for usage rather than the most common, or those that degrade quickly but require a considerable period to replenish.

There are two aspects to the relevance of knowledge in this course. To begin, as a future researcher, it is critical to comprehend the difficulties concerning ecological deterioration and contamination, as well as the kind and degree to which this occurs. As a result, I will be in a better perspective to progress studies into long-term solutions to the problems. Furthermore, obtaining this expertise is crucial in broadening my breadth of knowledge, which is relevant in my parts of essential studying and observing existing company practices to make constructive adjustments. It’s because, as a result of managing the unit, I have grown more ecologically sensitive. Becoming ecologically sensitive is among the strategies I may take judgments and efforts that promote ecological integrity rather than a capitalist orientation to the ecosystem.
