To encourage students to think critically about language learning at HUST, researchers can show how speaking tasks help students think more critically. These results help teachers make better lessons to help students learn how to think and communicate better. If HUST stresses intellectual engagement and critical thought and teaches students analytical and communication skills for a constantly changing world, it could become a top school for language learning. Speaking activities that help students think critically can help HUST students become engaged scholars who can give well-informed views and participate in class discussions. Most people agree that critical thinking is essential to learning a language. However, Hanoi University of Science and Technology must examine how it grows through speaking activities (Muhammadiyeva et al., 2020). This research gap needs to be filled by educators and policymakers so that critical thought can be used in language learning in a way that changes everything. This will help raise a new breed of flexible thinkers and good communicators ready to make a difference in the world and school.

To close the gap, this study looks into how speaking exercises help English majors at Hanoi University of Science and Technology improve their critical thinking skills. According to this study, speaking activities help students understand and evaluate what they are learning, think about other points of view, and state their own opinions (Huang et al., 2020). Students’ cognitive involvement and metacognitive skills improve when they think critically during speaking tasks. Speaking activities help students think critically by making them understand difficult words and build strong arguments. Structured discussions and self-reflection help students question ideas, find patterns, and apply what they have learned, which improves their language skills and intellectual curiosity (Huang et al., 2020). The finding that speaking exercises can improve critical thinking has important implications for teaching language. Taking part in speaking challenges that encourage critical thought can help students do better in school and develop their minds. Students learn the language and get their ideas across better when they do speaking assignments that force them to think critically. This work could change the way people learn languages to encourage critical thought and help students do better in a world that is becoming more connected (Huang et al., 2020). Students can use this project to improve their language skills by evaluating material, looking at different points of view, and expressing themselves through speaking activities. This study could help language learners develop the critical thinking skills they need to succeed in school and their careers worldwide.
