AI systems designed to supervise employees exhibit pros for organizational management to enhance efficiency and productivity. Supervisors utilize AI systems to manage various employees’ activities within a short time to ensure efficiency and accountability (Shneiderman, 2020). AI systems are inexpensive compared to human resources employed to assist the supervisor in ensuring quality services. Supervisors also access accurate information through the AI system, which minimizes unfairness in the workplace. AI systems provide reliable information since emotions and feelings are not involved in task execution. Employees embrace the responsibility due to acknowledgment of systematic monitoring and tracking. Supervisors manage to engage in other activities to enhance the productivity of the organization due to the availability of data analytic systems.
Cons associated with using AI systems in supervision include privacy and ethical concerns. Using surveillance and tracking gadgets on AI systems raises issues regarding employees’ privacy since the system may be unlimited, which raises concerns about personal limits in the workplace (Islam, 2021). Ethical issues concerning the AI system challenge the professional concepts and values of respect for personal space. Intrusion on personal space demoralizes the employees, which leads to inefficiency and unproductivity—AI systems data analysis presents a bias in algorithms, affecting accuracy in reports on evaluation and monitoring activities.
AI systems can change how we work in different industries through various aspects of operations and activities. AI systems have improved efficiency and productivity in manufacturing and processing industries (Moshayedi, 2022). companies enjoy productivity since employees become responsible for their duties under monitoring and evaluation of performance. The manufacturing industry manages downtime and equipment operations under AI systems. The health industry benefits from the AI system in the management of health records and professional commitment to ensuring accountability. AI systems enable data evaluation and analysis, which reveal the company’s performance level and help determine the strengths and weaknesses in the operation.
AI systems stabilize the finance systems in industries since automated systems enhance transparency by detecting errors and providing accurate information that enables informed decision-making. Industries rely on financial reports and auditing to strategize options and detect anomalies that increase productivity (Shneiderman, 2020). Organizations improve service delivery to customers due to employees’ commitment to gaining client trust and loyalty. For example, the telecommunication industry uses AI systems to deliver customer care services through automated inquiry and feedback channels. Industries evaluate employees’ performance on free and fair measures, measures, enhancing talent empowerment and employee development.
Managers can use AI systems to monitor employee email and internet usage, provided they consider the ethical and professional aspects. Monitoring employees’ emails and the internet helps managers mitigate issues concerning cyberattacks and other security issues (Moshayedi, 2022). Monitoring internet use and email services enables the managers to detect system anomalies, ensuring safety and risk mitigation. Managers prevent security issues associated with artificial intelligence and computing systems arising from the internet. Monitoring internet usage helps in resource allocation since the manager can estimate the resources required to cut costs.
Monitoring and tracking employee email and internet usage enhance compliance and accountability in the workplace. Workers regulate internet use for personal purposes, which enhances prioritization institutional commitment that enables managers to strategize and evaluate employees’ performance (Islam, 2021). However, using AI systems interferes with employees’ privacy and motivation to work. Tracking the employee’s internet usage invades personal space, causing privacy concerns. Employees lack motivation due to consistent monitoring, which minimizes the working morale, resulting in inefficiency and underperformance. Employee morale contributes to productivity, hence the need to moderate the AI systems application. Managers are required to consider ethical and legal provisions to ensure employees’ rights and values are protected to avoid legal consequences.
