Apply Motivation Theories To Analyze Performance Problems.

Motivation is a very important aspect in terms of management in an effective manner, and the ability to master different theories in motivation can vastly help me in my managerial role in the automobile sector. In mentioning a few of the motivation theories, Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs helps in understanding the five basic needs can help in the managerial role in understanding the real motivating factors of the employees and being in a better position to come up with reward system and appraisal methods in trying to meet their needs. Another theory that I have read and find quite important is Herzberg’s, which entails the two factors that give employees the motivation to work in my managerial role; being able to understand this theory puts me in a better position to easily point out what is causing the different level of dissatisfaction in the organization that is working in and be in a better position to address their needs in creating a positive environment.

In the managerial role, the ability to apply Aderfers ERG theory is also very important in my career. It helps analyze the firm’s performance, normally categorizing the human needs in existence needs, relatedness, and lastly, the growth needs. An employee’s underperformance may be characterized by not meeting his or her existing needs and not being catered to more properly. If an individual feels that he or she cannot make ends meet, they may be demotivated to work, and their level of performance will be lower. This calls for the manager to address the financial needs by offering some pay raise which will turn around the whole scenario into a high-performance employee. The employees require an environment that helps them grow in their roles in a particular organization, and if they feel there is no room for growth, they may feel demotivated to work. In my managerial role, applying this theory will be important as I can easily analyze the performance problem, determine whether the specific needs are met, and develop the best policies to address employee concerns.

Conclusion

In conclusion, studying organizational behavior will help me nurture my career in a managerial role in the automobile industry. Understanding different motivation theories under organizational behavior will be important in my role as a manager and my ability to adapt to different working environments.
