This notion expresses the might impact that high-skilled migration can have on sending and receiving countries. The authors critically analyze some of the terrible results of the phenomenon of brain drain, for example, the depletion of human capital and the recession of intellect in the countries of origin (Rajan, 2015). Conversely, they shed light on the potential benefits of brain gain for host nations as they attract and retain top-tier talent, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and economic growth.

It visualizes how the supply of species-specific skills and capabilities influences migration flows and presents the challenges that these movements may pose to labour markets, skill gaps, and lessons for the transfer of knowledge (Rajan, 2015). Throughout the paper, the authors use a critical point of view which reveals the complexity of the phenomenon of international migration of highly qualified immigrants.
