A graduate is someone who has effectively completed a course of training or coursework study, particularly one for which a bachelor’s or first college diploma certificate has been awarded (Adams et al., 2001). For one to propel their career to the highest point, one ought to have numerous essential skills to achieve that. In this paper, I will discuss two of the most important characteristics one can employ as a nurse to realize the best in their career. This paper will discuss the importance of having emotional integrity and teamwork as a graduate in Health.

Emotional integrity is very of high importance in the field of Health. This refers to understanding other people’s feelings, what they do, and what they think, especially your patients and colleagues at work. Upholding this characteristic in your profession benefits you and your healthy work environment(Adams et al., 2001). Emotional integrity helps build trust among your patients because patients look for help during their times of difficulty, and they need a medic who can understand them and offer emotional support. This characteristic helps create a good relationship between you and your patient. This further will lead to giving the patients the best advice and medication options.

Good communication is also one of the attributes of having emotional integrity; as a health worker, it demands a graduate to have good communication. This virtue helps the medical health practitioner talk to their patients effectively and understand their medical attention (Barton et al., 2018). This will further improve the patient’s morale, leading to a positive outcome. Eliminating fear and anxiety is one step on the road to recovery. Thus, graduates are encouraged to practice emotional integrity since it may positively impact a patient who is losing hope. In cases of mentally disturbed patients, it helps them get better relief, which can positively influence the healing process.

To the graduate having emotional integrity can help them deal with work-related stress. In the medical field, much stress can affect one emotionally; medics who address how they feel without fear are prone to get help from relevant authorities, which will improve their morale in working in their area of work (Kalisch et al., 2010). Emotional integrity boosts good decision-making in the medical field. Good decision-making helps medics to be honest, empathetic, and respectful in times of difficulty, thus boosting a good working environment. Healthcare practitioners may create a healthcare system that is not just medically competent but also compassionate, patient-centered, and morally upstanding by upholding emotional integrity.

Another good characteristic of a graduate is being able to apply teamwork. For many reasons, teamwork is essential in the medical industry and is of utmost significance. The healthcare industry is tiresome; it requires a well-placed, ready-for-work team of doctors, nurses, specialists in various departments, and subordinate staff to provide efficient services to patients (Shohani et al., 2017). It can also be noted that different specialists, once they work together, bring together their unique skills and know-how to deal with difficult situations. This can be noted that teamwork brings about efficient problem-solving.

Teamwork also enhances the reduction of making errors during medical operations. When multiple professions come together, they counter-check their partners to deliver excellent work. This, in turn, enhances patient safety during processes like theater sessions. It should also be noted that teamwork allows individuals to learn from one another by sharing what they may have experienced during certain periods and how they tackled the situation(Makary et al ., 2006). This, in turn, fosters a continuation of learning between colleagues. A focused group of medics is fast in adopting changes compared to being individual, fast decision making allowing better responses to patients.

Efficient workflow in medical departments is always accredited to teamwork. Teamwork allows individuals to work on what they are best in, which, in return, boosts a well structure output; in other words, teamwork brings about a division of labor. Healthcare workers in the team are not easily knocked down by depression since teamwork help in emotional support (Weis et al., 2000). This creates a good positive working environment, and job satisfaction is realized. The feeling of being useful in a team, delivering together what should be done, brings a point of belonging and proves a fulfillment of being professional. Lastly, a good reputation is given by patients. This may lead to an increased number of patients visiting the facility, which can increase salaries among the focused group.it is encouraged that a graduate should have this teamwork characteristic to succeed in the medical profession, which is very demanding since the patients deserve all the care they need to get well.

In conclusion, a graduate must have emotional integrity and teamwork characteristics, especially in the medical field. The two boost a good working environment and how medical graduates relate with their patients and fellow workmates when they land employment opportunities. Those who practice this characteristic end up not only at the highest peaks of their career but also improving the services offered by medical institutions. On the other hand, it also boosts patients’ morale and can create a journey to recovery.
