Nursing informatics is the use of nursing care science and abilities to information technology to achieve better data analysis and information management in healthcare (Alexander & Frith, 2018). Using a nursing informatics system, data and information can be reused, managed, defined, and transmitted to different people in a network. Technology advancement has played a gradually important function in the industry of healthcare, especially in supporting nurses’ capability to gain knowledge and make decisions. Nursing informatics can enhance nursing outcomes (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2022). The ultimate has multiple positive effects on the effectiveness of nursing care delivery.
Patient care needs to be enhanced with the rise of other complex diseases. The most significant norms of nursing care are required because the globe is infected. For example, reports of contagious diseases and associated casualties are rising in numerous regions. Enhancing healthcare issues relies heavily on nursing care. According to McGonigle and Mastrian (2022), nursing informatics is one approach to improving the effectiveness of healthcare delivery. Having authentic people to run the technological structure, a sufficient budget, and the appropriate parties’ assistance are all essential for a successful nursing informatics project achievement inside a healthcare system.
Based on the work of McGonigle and Mastrian (2022), this paper proposes a healthcare informatics system that combines features like electronic healthcare records control with others like new nurse training with automated task allocation and evaluation of performance. The nursing system integration will assist in effectively managing various regions of the healthcare sector, including training new nurses and assisting medical decision-making by organizing patient data along with physicians’ and nurses’ allocation as per demand from healthcare administrators. McGonigle and Mastrian (2022) suggest that the design of the nursing informatics system is to support nurses in various aspects of their work, including patient administration.
An integrated nursing informatics system benefits not only nurses but also programmers and other employers. However, a healthcare-integrated nursing informatics system cannot be adopted without the involvement of all state deliverers (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2022). Nurses are essential in the development process because they are central to organizing any healthcare system and their relations with other stakeholders. Managers in the healthcare industry have the authority to decide whether to apply the suggested system grounded on their evaluation of its service.
Admissions of the patient will advance more easily, nurses and other healthcare workers are quickly assigned to patients and grounded on evidence, medical records of patients will enhance care, and accurate opinions will be made about medical procedures (Mosier et al., 2019). By reducing remedial process errors and no occurrences, the system will enhance the effective treatment of a patient. Moreover, data analysis systems, modeling, and decision-making skills will allow for eliminating redundancies, generating timely reports, and aiding nurses in delivering the correct prescription to patients.
Care for patients could be optimized in several ways using the combined healthcare informatics network. The system mainly aims at collecting comprehensive patient records involving demographic information, the nature of the patient’s admission, the course of therapy, and any other applicable information (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2022). The most effective type of patient care and the best applicable physicians will be automatically allocated to the patient by the system. Moreover, the technology will enhance the growth of digital facilities, which will allow nurses and medical experts to collaborate to change redundant information that may enhance patient care. More effective professional and departmental collaboration of all activities to more patient care is a primary goal of the system.
Additionally, healthcare for patients can be achieved with standardized nursing language since it will enhance communication between nurses, doctors, patients, and other medical center staff members. In addition, the medical staff and nurses will be suitable for managing medical bias from off-site locales, improving the flexibility of healthcare services due to combined nursing informatics. By identifying healthcare difficulties and providing trainees with chances to address them, the system can lead the training of new nurses (Jones & Bartlett, 2023). Additionally, this system will also be suitable for employing analytical modeling to guide healthcare givers in assessing a patient’s medical response to medication in a healthcare facility, enabling them to develop the most suitable corrective therapy and action plan.
Big data analytics is a basic technology for enforcing the proposed system. The capability to collect, anticipates, analyze, trace, and make opinions regarding patient data depends mostly on big data analytics (Jones & Bartlett, 2023). Additionally, the patient data collected is an example of unshaped information that can be reused in big data analysis. To help in analysis and problem working, data analytics uses sophisticated data processing and matching styles. However, the system will make a comparison between computer-generated decisions and user feedback. However, it will induce a corrective process using the approach of big data analytics if there is an error or room for enhancement. Smart healthcare widgets, computers to support the system, and other manageable intelligent devices for fresh observation are necessary.
An economic or financial advisor, medical doctors, and other subordinates are all part of the design delivery team (Alexander & Frith, 2018). The team’s exercise and opinions on developing this kind of informatics system should consider the patients’ perspectives and the large public. This system should be planned, enforced via coding, tried in a healthcare setting, positioned, and preserved starting with applicable conditions and need analysis. The design has a team of members, whereby everyone contributes to the process. The medical community should submit to the expertise of computer programmers in determining the stylish strategy for resolving any issues that arise. Innovators have the responsibility of creating exhaustive drawings of how the system will work and changing the diagrams into code.
An economist or financial advisor should determine the design’s fiscal viability. Healthcare system managers can authorize the creation of a new informatics system if they suppose it to be in the system’s best interest. A nurse informaticist would be necessary for all system development phases, especially related problems (Sipes, 2016). Nurses give crucial healthcare support and are conversant with the problems facing healthcare systems. For instance, a nurse informaticist can work together with programmers to come up with the best solutions. The nurse informaticist can also estimate how an organization will benefit from the system and help in its rollout. Moreover, informaticists are pivotal in educating other healthcare providers on applying and making the utmost of the new system. It is essential to understand that monitoring and evaluation are needed for error checking and continual enhancement once a nursing informatics system has been installed (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2022). An informaticist in the nursing department can estimate the strengths and weaknesses of the informatics system as part of the healthcare team.
In conclusion, healthcare facilities are agonized with serious problems that need to be solved to see significant gains in patient health and healthcare effectiveness. The complexity of conditions and the rising number of patients contribute to the strain on healthcare systems. Medical issues can be mitigated partly by developing a nursing informatics system that will manage the medical records of the healthcare facility. The managers, doctors, nurses, and IT workers all take part in creating the informatics system in nursing. The new system will allow for further effective patient care. Strong patient care may be handed out because healthcare givers will have time to coordinate the numerous active sections of a healthcare facility. An electronic decision-making process in healthcare is one possible outcome of the system, which is helpful in cutting down on time taken for services and medical errors in healthcare systems. The accomplishment of the system relies on big data analytics for collecting, analyzing, anticipating, and giving insight into data to help make opinions. The design team members’ demands at every level of the life cycle of a program’s creation are steady with what is required at that position. An informaticist should work together with programmers to produce a nursing informatics system.
