The research relies on the customer misery index (CMI) and system constraint metric (SCM) as indicators of key performance in the organization. For most enterprises, personnel capabilities play a huge role in influencing their maximum performance in the company. As a result, improving workers’ skills through training is essential to continuously increase their output and illuminate their key performance indicators (KPI). Most businesses aim to increase customer satisfaction while streamlining their operations to eliminate constraints involved in production. Reliance on automation in establishing business needs and offering viable solutions aids in executing systematic organizational changes hence increasing competitive advantage for a business (Blais, 2011). The model will identify which skills workers should improve to increase their KPIs; it will classify workers’ capabilities based on efficiency their conformance rate and grade their skills based on their operations.

Incorporating automation strategies is a huge factor in ensuring that businesses maximize their human resources (Liao, 2019). Using the worker skill matrix as a business strategy has numerous strengths since it is an automated model hence technical in dealing with numerous variables. It is also preferred in quantifying the risks associated with the occurrence of specific events on the organization’s overall performance. As opposed to traditional simulation models, the matrix also incorporates the effect of the human element as a critical resource in ensuring the organization is functional. The simulation model also plays a significant part in ensuring that the business strategy process is seamless by eliminating the time and energy spent on decision-making processes such as employee training. However, the main weakness associated with this business strategy model is that it is limited to worker utilization operations hence offering a limiting conclusion on the overall employee improvement process.

Research processes

An essential step in the research process is identifying the problem; this creates a basis for setting a suitable business strategy to tackle existing challenges. Research conducted across numerous enterprises shows that employee capabilities have a huge limitation on determining their output. The exploratory study on the production plant offers a suitable case study that provides model instance information (Brian Kernan, 2011). The company’s data preserved in its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system provides a conclusive research framework. The study used a sample design of eleven workers with diverse job roles. The research design includes an observational study of the workers’ skills to establish the main RCMs and worker utilization experiences. Analysis of the study involved using tables and bar charts from setting conclusive results.

The strengths of using the research processes in establishing the viability of the hypothesis include the accuracy of obtaining results due to using real-time data. The data also focuses on specific skill sets in the company, which is relevant in improving the overall employee performance hence gives a detailed finding on areas of improvement. The use of quantitative research methods in the study provides a set of accurate data which is reliable for future references (Gobov, 2020). While the research processes were systematic, the results can be misleading, mainly due to the small sample size selected.

Outcomes

The research revealed that improving all skills for all workers ensures that they can operate their machines continuously. However, this output will not significantly affect the machinery RCM since the machinery will be optimally used. Moreover, the results showed major improvement from upgrading Worker 11 since they are the most underutilized employee (Brian Kernan, 2011). Enhancing the skills of worker 1 does not result in significant output since they are highly skilled. The main strength of these findings is that it limits the decision-making process by ensuring that each worker is only tasked with improving a single skill at a particular duration. The weakness of this outcome is that it relies only on the assessment of employees without any adjustments on the machinery hence providing only a single outcome based on the variance.

Conclusion

Decision-making processes are significant in offering direction on how business operations should run. Employee development options are significant in enhancing the overall output of an organization based on its performance. The use of simulation techniques in establishing suitable key performance areas based on current data is effectively useful in the long-term success of any organization.
