As a well-known website that gathers film reviews from the media, Rotten Tomatoes occasionally casts doubt on films generally agreed upon as masterpieces. The core aim of this article is to analyze and improve one feature of a chosen film using rhetorical appeals, which will improve the latter’s quality.
The epic movie “Casablanca,” produced in 1942 and directed by Michael Curtiz, is the focus of this article. The film is acknowledged for its immortal love story that is played out against the backdrop of a political frenzy. At this, the development of Ilsa Lund, a role that Ingrid Bergman played, is emphasized (Curtiz). The character of Ilsa within the movie may develop more. As a result, the audience allows themselves to be more emotionally involved despite most aspects of the film being perfect.
However, Ilsa as a character is important in the curious story involving romance and mystery. The story would have been significantly enhanced had the writer examined her past, her purposes, and the inner conflicts she has to cope with. The moviegoer can feel through the overalls of the main character, who exhibits her past story and feelings, which is why the protagonist behaves in a determined way in the film (Curtiz).
