Importance of Revision

The act of revision is a necessary step in the writing process. While writing an essay or research paper, there will always be some inaccuracy, some that the author may not be able to notice for himself. Revision is the last step in transforming a rough draft of an essay or research paper into a “perfect” final product. The initial step in editing is the basis of the process of changing, self-examining, and rereading your work. There will undoubtedly be flaws in your reading that you will discover when revising it. When you write, you want to communicate certain concepts to your audience; when you revise and reread, be sure to review these points to ensure they’re powerful and not fragmented (Milinki, 64). Another form of mistake you may detect in your writing is missing words; this is a significant difficulty I personally have when I try to prepare ahead of time what I’m writing and occasionally forget a few phrases.

The second challenging aspect of the revision aspect is asking for help from others. The initial stage in the evaluation technique is to perform a self-evaluation, but the second step is to ensure that everything is properly in its place. Because they did not write it, others may see more flaws in your work than you did. Because other people did not create your work, they will not comprehend what you are attempting to express when they begin reading. If they get something is not right, they may call you, giving you the opportunity to discuss the matter with your readers and correct any inaccuracies. Because writers must be able to accept constructive criticism, this step of the review process may be the most difficult. Constructive criticism is a wonderful tool, but it may be difficult for some individuals to accept. While hearing and taking criticism of one’s work might be difficult, it can be valuable and lead you to correctly write the paper’s topic (Brannen, 103). I’ve had difficulties polishing my own work. As part of my studies, I have had to write academic papers and articles. I usually review all of the articles I’ve made and pick the one I think works best or reflects my finest work. Once I’ve determined which portion to use, I go through it again and try to review it as thoroughly as possible using the information I’ve obtained. As I read, I can identify a number of errors that I had overlooked during my original revision.

The peer-review element of the revision process is usually challenging for me, but I persist through it, and in the end, revising again benefits my article, and I am able to obtain a high score for it. Revision is a necessary step in the writing process. Reviewing your work can help you put the finishing touches on it and make it the best it can be. Finally, although peer review is a challenging part of the revision process, it is also one of the most effective in ensuring that your work flows as planned (Milinki, 74). Although peer review is a crucial element of the review process, self-review of your work should not be overlooked since it is the foundation of the process. Remember that rewriting your articles is an essential step in making your writing the best. Everyone makes mistakes when they write, and editing the content will assist you in identifying and correcting those faults.
