Ethical and Sustainable Operation

The last tourist movie shows the conditions and impacts of the largest industries globally via the forgotten voices of those working there. Travelling is at its highest today. There has been much destruction of many tourist attraction sites and places by those tourists unintentionally. Due to exaggerated tourist activities, the impact is seen on the environment, wildlife, and vulnerable communities worldwide. Over-tourism is causing environmental degradation, harmful conditions, economic degradation, and the sale of locals.

Innovation, technology and ethical business operations in the restaurant industry

Innovation is the execution of ideas and opinions that lead to introducing of new goods or services, while technology is the science of knowledge that deals with applied purposes. Innovation has dramatically influenced the tourism industry. The United Nations defines sustainable development goals as protecting the planet and improving the lives and prospects of everyone globally. They also aim to reduce climate change and poverty and improve health and economic growth. The strategies and the plans of the United Nations’ sustainable development are relevant to tourism since it aims to improve the lives of the locals and promote a healthy and clean environment. Tourism is transformative since local people are lifted out of poverty and conservation enhancement. The people in the tourism industry have introduced programs where tourists visit orphanages and other vulnerable kids, empowering them and sometimes offering some assistance.

The restaurant industry has well-introduced foods for tourists similar to their home countries’ foods since they could appeal to the local customs and tastes. As a result, the restaurant is making much money and attracting many people in those countries. The statistics of people travelling is of a high rate. Therefore, travelling is linked with tourism which also brings money. Technology is also used because of the increased use of social media and the internet, which, for many users, snap things and places to post on social media platforms (Kumar et al., 2020). Technology is used even in booking restaurants and reservation rooms, primarily bused in these tourist attraction sites.

Travelling is not a must, but it is a privilege. People should travel and explore different places and make sure they leave those places better than they found. Disposing of the used materials or the leftovers in the right places rather than polluting the environment regardless of their paying for a tour of those places.

Pros, cons and impacts on the restaurant industry

Today’s restaurant industry has brought some positives, for example, the enterprising Peruvian women who worked with tour operators and diverted travellers to their villages to purchase beautiful hand-woven textiles. As a result, they give back to the local community. The restaurant industry has brought much money due to the tourist attraction, leading to economic growth. The rise of living standards for the people in the areas near the tourist attraction sites. These people have secured jobs and reduced poverty in their homes. Economic growth is drastically increasing in countries where tourism is at its best.

Many orphanages have increased dramatically in response to tourist interests as they visit in large numbers. They also disturb ongoing classes, give the children candies, take selfies in which they create a bond and later leave these children back in their countries, which is very bad and not allowed elsewhere. The tourists misuse the resources; for example, they eat and shower more often and are less interested in daily conservation practices. There is an increased use of social media as people tend to snap and take pictures and post them, which breeds terminal and harmful indifferences. The internet has led to a decrease in prices of some goods and services as they use the internet to find out and access them.

The cruelty against animals like elephants, tigers and monkeys as the tourists pay to attend the shows that take advantage of the animals and take selfies with them. Forcing animals to do so is bad and unnatural (Mkono & Holder, 2019). Hulking ships make the ships darken ports and make the environment dirty. Garbage hips in the attraction areas also pollute the environment.

In conclusion, tourism is transformative since it contributes to economic growth, lifts the local people, reduces poverty, and promotes environmental conservation. As a tourist, one is responsible for taking care of the environment by disposing of waste in the right places. Tourists should also know that riding animals and taking selfies with them is wrong. Creating a bond with the children in orphanages without impacting their lives is not also recommendable. Tourism with a positive approach contributes to positive impacts.
