The best way out of the COVID-19 pandemic is by securing access to vaccines. Having adequate and safe vaccines against the pandemic will increase the vaccination rates. The majority of the countries in Europe have taken a common EU approach to facilitate distribution and securing supplies (Lydon et al., 2017). With the aid of Advance Purchase Agreements with sole vaccine producers, the organization secured the right to purchase a specified quantity of vaccine doses in each period at a given price. The upfront costs were partly financed by the $ 2.7 billion Emergency Support Instrument commission. The funding was taken as the down payment on the vaccines. Toyota Motor Japan has been at the forefront of implementing measures directed by government authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections. Securing access to vaccines has positively impacted the company. The employees have easy access to the vaccines, thus smooth business operations.
The objective of the approach is to increase the rate of manufacturing, development, and deployment of the COVID-19 vaccines. It will positively impact the decision-making process.
The global cooperation approach has an effect on vaccination rates across Europe. European Commission confirmed on September 18, 2020, its participation in the COVAX facility. The main reason was equitable access and affordable COVID-19 vaccines. COVAX is included in the Access to Covad-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, a worldwide collaboration to increase the production, equitable, and development of COVID-9 treatments, tests, and vaccines. On November 12, 2020, the EU contributed 100 million sterling pounds additional to grant funding to the COVAX facility to secure future COVID 19 vaccines in the middle- and low-income countries (Hassan-Smith et al., 2020). These funds will be complimentary to the 400 million sterling pounds in guarantees the EU already committed for COVAX.
The European countries have put a measure to ensure transparency and authorization for exports of vaccines. On January 29, 2021, the countries put a measure authorized by the countries. Ensuring timely access to vaccines across Europe and accountability to vaccines exported outside Europe. However, the mechanism will end on December 31, 2021, replacing a new monitoring tool. Vaccines will no longer require permission for the export of vaccines outside Europe. A company like Toyota Motor Japan’s vaccination rates significantly increased after employer-sponsored events. The primary motivation for employees to be vaccinated is that work is not health-related, but the availability and convenience of the vaccine and helped absenteeism. A recent survey conducted by the company shows a potential return of 80% of those who participated in the survey saying workplace vaccination would significantly,49%, or moderately 30%, increase the likelihood of employers getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Gallup’s poll suggests that business is one the most trusted organization across Europe.
Medical reminders play a crucial role in vaccination rates. The reminders are in messages sent to patients acting as reminders of the upcoming or upcoming treatment. The messages can be text messages, auto-dialed phone texts, and postcards. The barriers addressed include Equity, forgetfulness, health literacy, and access. Having reminders of upcoming vaccination increases vaccination rates (French et al., 2020). This is a multi-pronged approach combined with eliminating access barriers in optimizing barriers. The general staff of Toyota, who has not been given the second jab of the vaccination, get reminders, ensuring high vaccination rates. Also, the general public will continue with their everyday lives hence ensuring high income in the company.
To sum up, 80% of the population around Europe had received at least one dose of the vaccine. Toyota Motor Japan was adversely affected by the pandemic. As the vaccination rates increase within a specific community, people will be less likely to have stress and skip the health and medical care, therefore more healthy and productive employees. Taking strategic steps is essential when coming up with the Covid-19 vaccination approach and workplace program, improving business.
