God perfectly created humankind and everything on the earth, and man was assigned the responsibility of ruling the entire animals, fish, and birds of the sky since he was created with the image and likeness of God. Therefore, man was unique among the entire creation, but Adam and Eve were chased from the Garden of Eden after the fall because they failed to heed God’s laws. Sin triggered the fall, and despite being reconciled to their Maker by Jesus Christ, most people have been rebellious and do not accept the true gospel of the cross and the blood of our savior. This essay focuses on how division, deception, and confusion work against my society’s gospel.
Division
Christians are the followers of Jesus Christ; thus, they should have the same target of preaching the true gospel and winning souls to Christ. However, many Christians have drifted from the true gospel of repentance and taking the cross and following Jesus and instead have strictly followed the gospel of blessings and prosperity alone (Gilleard & Higgs, 2020). False prophets and pastors have led many astray and made them believe that God only wants to bless them and that He is ever merciful even when they do not follow His commands. The main focus on the earth is to do God’s will and enter through the narrow gate, which leads to the Kingdom of Heaven, but many people strictly want the gospel of blessings and prosperity. Such division has caused hatred amongst people from various races, religions, and cultures, thus destabilizing global peace. Failure to do God’s will to be true disciples of Jesus Christ has caused disagreement in various churches.
Deception
According to Job 28:28, wisdom is fearing God since His wrath on the rebellious is unbearable, and shunning all the evil is understanding. However, many people embrace the blessing and prosperity gospel and end up paying a lump sum of money to acquire the blessings (Modise, 2018). Many people in society have neglected the truth, and they have not been set free from the daily worries and problems of the world. Such worries and problems have made many people believe the false teachings of giving out a certain amount of money to get the blessings and neglecting the gospel repentance, taking care of the needy, supporting the widows and orphans, and putting our trust in Jesus Christ. False teachings that attract huge congregations have made many Christians fail to have total faith and hope in their Creator and have rebelled against the gospel of rebuking sin, repentance, and following Christ.
Confusion
Jesus Christ is the only true savior, and during his death at Calvary, the temple curtain was torn into two, which meant that genuine repentance brings the entire mankind to the Lord. However, neglecting the gospel of grace has made many people put their trust in earthy possessions and focus on living happy lives, yet human beings are mere pilgrims on the earth (Gilleard & Higgs, 2020). Such confusion of abandoning the true gospel has attracted sinful actions like legalizing gay marriages, and the congregation wholeheartedly follows the teachings of priests involved in such marriages. According to 2nd Corinthians 7:14, people suffer because of sin, and the only way they could be saved is to turn to their Creator and leave wicked deeds. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and humankind. Still, the confusion of failure to believe in him has led to the erosion of good societal deeds and morals since they lack understanding.
Conclusively, the hatred, wars, famine, and calamities such as earthquakes clearly indicate that people have rebelled against their Creator and only Jesus can save humankind. Thus Christ is the solution to every problem facing people, and they can be saved once they leave their sinful deeds and follow him. Therefore, following the true gospel of the cross and blood and neglecting the false gospel will save mankind from the wrath of God.
