I have chosen this documentary because it touches on health. Moreover, health documentaries can be educational films to inform the public about health. Therefore, this documentary will allow me to understand various inflammation causes and even pass this information to others who might not have it (Lawson, 2018). Health information is critical for the public, and the documentary about health will usually attract many viewers because it could be health complications, or they might want to get the information to advise their friends or family. Generally, health documentaries can be informative and inspirational; they will usually help the viewer gain insight and motivation to change one’s health and wellness habits.
The target audience of the documentary was well selected. As have been mentioned, health documentary can easily attract viewers. Since it is educational, it will certainly attract the attention of learners and those who need such information (Leslie et al., 2009). The main purpose of this documentary is to inform the listeners and viewers about the best foods that one can eat to help speed up their metabolism rate naturally and the kind of diseases associated with poor metabolic rates. In other words, the author presents a solid example of himself having problems brought about by having the wrong foods.
This documentary was produced in 2020 to inform the public about many health issues, including weight loss which is closely associated with metabolism in the body. The film author was a victim of poor metabolism, and thus, he believed that many other people are facing the same problem. Therefore, His documentary film would be better positioned to inform the public on many issues about metabolism and health.
The film techniques used in this documentary vary from setting to setting. The most depictable techniques used here include color. Generally, the choice of color describes the piece’s mood (Cornejo & Ortiz, 2021). The color can also be enhanced using lighting. For instance, the use of vibrant colors in this documentary can indicate that an individual is healthy. Another technique that is portrayed in this film is the cross-cutting. It is simply an editing technique where actions are presented as occurring simultaneously. In this case, the camera will cut away from one action to another to show that these actions occur concurrently.
In today’s world, educating ourselves about important issues and getting varied and useful sources of information is fundamental. People need information to help them change their ways of doing things. Recent events around the world, combined with how we find, share, and replicate news of past events, require us to step up and find quality sources of information about our world and how we relate to it. Generally, documentary films provide an in-depth and informative resource, a good platform for dialogue creation. This documentary, therefore, is an important tool that has brought a significant topic to the table in a captivating manner that sparks a conversation about health and food.
Ethos, logos, and pathos have been used in this documentary to appeal to and persuade an audience on the argument about metabolism and the associated problems. The storyteller displayed many pictures of different food types to persuade the audience. Using these pictures has made it possible for the author to develop a feature that compels genuine emotional connections to characters. These are intended to teach the audience a common truth about shared humanity.
The use of simple language has been noted throughout the film, with the author trying to explain the concepts in a manner that the audience can find easy to comprehend. The author has also employed visual appeals to try to attract the audience’s attention. The visual appeals in terms of pictures and images are for different food types and their supplements. Generally, this campaign was successful because must have been successful because anything that touches on human health is crucial. Many people do not know how to deal with conditions brought about by improper or poor diet.
