Understanding learning is a significant factor. It helps individuals to know their weaknesses and strengthen them during learning interaction. Everyone process information uniquely and differently. The objective of any learning is for the learner to apply the knowledge the tutor or teacher imparted. It is, therefore, critical to gain an understanding to enhance the learning potential. The learners’ ability measures practical learning to apply the knowledge to solve life issues. This kind of learning is achieved by integrating various learning styles. This paper explores multiple learning styles and outcomes using the help of VARK analysis.
Personal Learning Style
According to the VARK analysis, the learning preference is mild kinesthetic. Individuals with the learning style prefer learning by action. The learner likes doing things by hand. Kinesthetic learners appreciate physical learning interaction like reading a book, watching videos, active movement, and experiences. The learners use various learning tools to convert the information from short-term to long-term memory.
Preferred Learning Strategies
Visual is my preferred learning strategy. I can learn independently with videos, pictures, and diagrams. I like to understand concepts so that I can envision the whole structure. I retain the information for a long when they are presented in graph, picture, and videos. I fully participate in a class when a teacher uses photographs and diagrams during learning interaction. The visual pieces of information take more extended periods in my memory than audio. The result from the VARK analysis is kinesthetic outcome points out the part of my learning preferences. Kinesthetic learning strategies preferred pictures to visualize ideas. I like doing visual activities, but I got bored with long readings. However, visual learning strategies are disadvantaged by distractions. Objects and images attract an individual with visual learning strategies. Distraction is almost everywhere when learning is taking place. The teacher or tutor needs a critical system to contain the visual learners.
Learning Styles
Learning styles are significant to the individual. The way individuals learn and process a concept is different. Some learners absorb through reading, others through doing, listening, and discussion. Knowing the learning styles maximizes the experiences of memory retention. It is essential to have strengths and understand the preferred form of the information. The unique nature of individuals allows variations in the learning process. There are four main learning styles; Visual, audio, and kinesthetic reading/writing. The learning style has benefits in the educational system. Understanding learning style has a binding effect on education programs. The technique integrates various tools and experiences to accommodate all learning styles. Incorporating an eclectic learning style encourages the learner’s participation in class. When learners fully participate, the objectives of learning are achieved. It is critical to determine learning styles to achieve the learning outcome. Learning preferences have an impact on academic achievement. It explains the preferred learning strategies of each learner. The learning styles are predictors of academic performance and generate the education curriculum. Learning techniques are linked with the academic performance of learners.
Learning Styles and Health Promotion
Learning style is effective in the healthcare sector. Healthcare providers enhance the effectiveness of patients during care education. The nurses need more time to review multiple topics essential to patient care. It is necessary evaluate the learning style is vital to help the healthcare provider to help focus on the patient’s needs. When nurses employ effective learning strategies with patients, they are motivated to retain the knowledge.
Additionally, the patient can apply the knowledge in their daily routine. Health promotion aims to allow individuals to achieve their fullest health potential by being in charge and choosing a practical lifestyle. Learning styles is an opportunity for nurses to explain information to patients in a way they understand and integrate it into their lives. Patient education enhances the outcome through health knowledge.
Conclusion
Effective patient education is achieved when the knowledge imparted is applied. Evaluation is done with the intensity of the learner’s ability to increase the understanding of the concept from the tutor. For healthcare providers, the objective of patient education is achieved when patients understand the illness and when learners can apply the intervention from the nurse independently. Healthcare providers must assess individual learning styles to innovate ways to accomplish the patient’s education.
