Organizational or Patient Issues

The matter in question is the improved number of patients in our emergency departments of a medium-sized community hospital. This issue, beyond the long period of waiting for patients for an appointment, creates a perfect storm in which we cannot give special care to all of them. It is so crucial to handle that problem. Its implications are dynamic and can be seen in patient’s satisfaction and well-being, as well as in those who work in the medical field. At this moment, we want to present an interdisciplinary model that approaches the problem at the root and thus ensures that the patients wait less and that there is a higher quality of service (Tucker et al., 2021). Our multipronged plan involves creating a system that enables the patients to have shorter waiting times, provides the opportunity to exchange operational information, and ensures the appropriate use of resources. We aim to increase the effectiveness of treatment and the patients’ happiness by ensuring that all medical personnel from various specializations perform well. We will also form a collaborative team to help with the exact procedures and a quicker pace in the treatment process. Our strategy is based on proven evidence that contributes to our interdisciplinary team’s resourcefulness in collaborating to find a solution, thus giving us a chance of success. The team will probe the existing procedures by applying the latest advancements, finding and pointing out the drawbacks, and providing a bespoke treatment to deal with any particular issues (Tucker et al., 2021). This is done through reengineering patient flow services, installing new communication platforms, and adjusting labor requirements to the patient surge demand trend.

Implementation and Resource Management

Further, inter-departmental cooperation and coordination in their communication will produce effective outcomes through advanced care coordination and simplification of the process. Data tracking would consist of several indicators, for example, patient polls, resource usage rates, departmental email traffic, and wait times, to evaluate the outcome of the transition. The success achieved might be confirmed by comparing pre- and post-implementation data, as is the case of the interdisciplinary plan, which has concrete pieces of evidence on which it is based and the points it addresses.

Employing the interdisciplinary approach shows the excellent chances of eradicating the shortcomings of our ED for our hospital. Through joint efforts of healthcare workers from different disciplines, our collective aim is to ensure maximum use of resources and work with patients to attain the best outcomes and the quickest turnover of patients. All these are part of our massive plan involving best-of-breed scheduling processes, innovative use of resources, and continuous oversight. The expected results from following this plan include outstanding patient outcomes, satisfaction, and departmental efficiency. Alongside these particular patients, our success in this project will boost confidence in our institution within the community. We are eager to deliver care at a premium level and create a center where innovation and excellence meet.
