The Saint Francis de Sales Schools require relevant mission and vision statements. After all, they are essential in running the school because they highlight its goals and strategies. The mission and vision statement clearly outlines the school’s strategies and activities. Christian schools serve a sizable portion of Bristol’s population. The school’s operation and results have been flawless thus far, but it faces competition from a Christian school established in Bristol (Klag, pg45). The new school has grown in popularity because it is not as strictly Christian as the Saint Francis de Sales Schools. This problem is best addressed by mission and vision statements.

An organization considers several ideas and opinions to develop and successfully implement efficient mission and vision statements. The ideas were evaluated to aid in developing the mission and vision statements’ objectives and plans.

Mission Statement Evaluation

Five questions must be answered before an organization can develop a mission statement. The first question sheds light on what the school is involved in by analyzing the school’s activities. The essential competencies of the school are evaluated next, and the school’s internal strength should be rock solid. The motivators behind the school’s stakeholders’ commitment are then examined. If stakeholders believe they are valuable, they will provide positive feedback (Cady, pg32). The next idea is evaluated based on the mission statement’s straightforward; the message should be clear and easy to understand. The final concept to be examined is the mission statement’s realism.

Vision Statement Evaluation

Like the mission statement, the vision statement must answer five questions to be considered credible. If the vision statement is bold, the first idea is to use it. This should demonstrate that it is an idea that the organization is constantly striving to achieve in the vision. Second, a vision statement should be focused on the future. This provides us with the framework within which the organization will be formed. Furthermore, the vision statement should be motivating. The fourth concept is a goal-oriented one. This provides everyone with a sense of direction in the organization’s operations. Finally, a vision statement should use the organization’s distinguishing features and history.

The Mission and Vision Statements for Saint Francis de Sales Schools.

The original mission statement for the Saint Francis de Sales Schools is, “Our mission is to foster academic achievement by creating a nurturing environment and promoting excellence in all aspects of life. We embrace the diverse Catholic community of modern Bristol and encourage students to reach out to their fellow brothers and sisters, in the true Christian spirit” (Klag, pg23). I, however, suggest a change in the mission and vision statements. This is my suggestion, the mission statement: “Our mission is to provide quality education in an attempt to uphold the perks of holistic Christian education for current and future generations. The students will benefit from the school’s motto of true Christian spirit by encouraging the various Christian values of the Catholic community and stakeholders in Bristol”. The vision statement: “A Centre for provision of high-quality education and social activities to ensure the Christian child’s healthy development.”

The mission statement provides a detailed explanation of why certain activities are carried out in the school and why they are done. On the other hand, the vision statement outlines the school’s long-term goals and objectives. The mission and vision statements are the glue that holds the school together as a community. In addition to holding the organization together, the mission and vision statements are the strategies bearing for the organization; through these statements, a school can ploy out and ensure the strategies are followed. An organization’s mission statement can be changed over time to reflect changing trends and needs, as long as the organization’s intention remains consistent.

The mission statement is the key to the school’s daily operations, as it is the key to success. The mission statement addresses decisions concerning the well-being of students and the well-being of the institution. Employees reap numerous benefits when they adhere to what is stated in the mission statement (Chaneski, pg54). The mission statement is fundamental to the organization’s success and growth. We learn why an organization was founded and what it does by reading its mission statement. The mission statement explains what the organization is all about.

Through a vision statement, we can understand what an organization is dealing with. With a unified vision statement, students are encouraged to be productive, and beneficial activities are introduced in the school. The vision statement provides us with a clear picture of the school’s activities. Students and stakeholders use vision statements as the focal point for all activities at school. Everyone in the school is pushed by the mission statement to work towards better results in the school and, as a result, achieve set goals.

The reason behind adopting the changes on the mission and vision statements

The Saint Francis de Sales Schools are experiencing several operational issues, so implementing my idea for mission and vision statements will benefit them. Because of the decrease in productivity, stakeholders in the school have lost trust and are withdrawing significant funding. Students are also transferring to more competitive institutions than the Saint Francis Schools. If the new mission statement is adopted, the school’s goals must be consistent with involving stakeholders in the operations. The quality of activities at the school will improve as a result of the suggested vision statement. There will be new and improved activities and subjects introduced. Education and technology changes will be implemented in the education system to ensure success.
