Education is the key to success. This phrase has been repeated again and again to everyone since their childhood. But what is education? Which doors does it open? At what level can we say one is educated? These questions still linger in the minds of many people trying to dissect the issue of education and its relation to success. However, many people agree that acquiring tertiary education (college or university) makes one make the level of being educated (Smeby, 2012). Most people don’t realize that a university education is more than reading books acquiring scholarly knowledge. The whole experience of campus life helps shape people for future life, both professionally and socially (Prajapati et al., 2017). In essence, the entire campus life experience helps one gain the key to success and trains them on how to use the keys, how to open the doors and which doors to open. This paper reviews the significance of my podcast, Reflection on life as a university student, and the promotional measures used to ensure the information reaches the desired audience.
The Reflection on life as a university student is highly significant today for various reasons. Every year, thousands of students across the globe qualify to join universities. This podcast will prepare them for the life experiences and the challenges they will face in their quest to quench their thirst for knowledge. Further, the podcast will help them be mentally and physically prepared for their challenges. Additionally, the podcast will give them various economical tips that will enable them to survive university life which can be frustrating without financial stability.
Every year, many students fail to meet the academic threshold required by specific universities worldwide and end up dropping out of school at the college level. Although a few famous billionaires and the captains of the industry like Michael Dell and Bill Gated dropped out of university, completing a university education is still essential for everyone seeking knowledge. This podcast will provide students in university and those yet to join with study tips that I used to navigate the university education journey. These study tips will include studying for a CAT and how to revise for and approach the final exam.
Social skills are essential in university life and the professional and social life of many people (Prajapati et al., 2017). In essence, an individual social network influences his or her net worth. This paper will highlight various social tips that I have acquired through my campus life and experiences, which will help comrades build their social networks. These social networks may prove helpful for them in the future.
The current state of social media makes this podcast marketable. The statistics of people who use social media daily show that many youths between the age of 18 and 35 frequently use social media. This is the target age of my podcast, which makes the topic marketable.
Social media is an established political economy regarding advertising, monetization, freelance workers and a consumer base. Regarding advertising, social media advertising takes two forms; advertising and marketing. Social media advertising is done in paid ads or promotion of posts according to various social media platforms. Paid ads are bought by the advertising company and usually link to the advertising company’s server. In this regard, I will use paid advertising in the form of paid ads to market my podcast. The ads will link to the podcast and or YouTube video. I will use this strategy since it affords targeted marketing. Targeted marketing ensures that the ads are portrayed to a target audience according to browser history, age, origin, education level, among other demographic factors (Zhang et al., 2010). This will ensure that the ads are portrayed to potential consumers of the information depicted in the podcast.
Regarding monetization, I will use the already existing architecture to promote my podcast and YouTube video and make some money from it. I will use advertising and sponsorship mechanism in the podcast and YouTube videos, whereby I will charge money to promote other businesses in my podcast or YouTube video (Postigo, 2016). Further, after attaining the requirements for earning on YouTube regarding the number of subscribers and views, I will start earning some money. Further, I will set up a Patreon to sustain the podcast or YouTube video (Regner, 2021). In this case, I will offer the patrons branded T-shirts and exclusive content, which will not be available to the normal subscribers. In exchange, I will charge $20 per month as the minimum payable price by the patrons. In essence, my podcast will fit easily in this established political system and utilize its architecture to promote the podcast and earn from it.
I will employ various promotional mechanisms already available in the existing social media architecture to promote my podcast or YouTube video. First, I will use paid ads on various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube to promote my podcast or YouTube channel (Jung et al., 2017). The paid ads advertising and promotion measure will target university students regarding browser history, age and education level. The paid ads will be in the form of videos or posters on various social media platforms. The ads will link to my YouTube channel or podcast, allowing users to access all the content I will have posted on the channel. Further, I will use sponsored posts on various social media platforms like Facebook to ensure that the information regarding my channel or podcasts reaches a wide array of people around the globe (Boerman et al., 2017).
Further, to promote the podcast or YouTube channel, I will guest host on other podcasts with the same targeted audience. For instance, I will guest host various podcasts targeting drug abuse among youth, like the Bubble Hour and podcasts targeting university students, like the Wonkhe Show. This measure will ensure that the offerings available in my podcast and YouTube channel are portrayed to the target audience, which will prompt them to look for more information regarding my podcast or YouTube channel.
Further, I will employ various language skills to cultivate a following. The basic language skill used will be speaking. In this essence, I will audibly and fluently express the desired information. In this regard, I will keep my audience engaged by asking them questions, reporting their responses, and telling relatable stories. Further, I will use rhetorical questions to engage my views and listeners.
Although education is not the only key to success, its significance cannot be underrated in an individual’s life. Attaining a university education is therefore essential. However, the modelling of university students to become viable and competitive in the economic world takes more than just knowledge acquired through books—various social systems developed in the experience of campus life prove to be helpful in the future. My podcast or YouTube will share various insights regarding campus experience. Further, I will utilize the established social media architecture to promote my podcast or YouTube channel and earn from it. In this regard, I will use paid ads and sponsored posts on various social media platforms to promote my podcast. Additionally, I will create a Patreon and promote other businesses to make money.
