Hence, we can appreciate the complexities of ethnicity, race, and culture in the U.S. and how various groups have influenced interaction on a broader cultural Landscape.
How can you apply this information to contemporary issues?
The study of North and West European Americans in contemporary issues concerning ethnicity, race, and culture facilitates an understanding of the experience, their contribution, and history, hence fostering an appreciation of richness in the aspect of diversity in the present American society today. This facilitates promoting inclusivity, appreciating cultural differences, and working to build a better, harmonious, and compassionate multicultural society (Isenberg, 2017). Besides, it enhances addressing issues of discrimination, identification, and social integration by highlighting the problems faced by various ethnic groups in the past and present.
What is your own opinion of these readings?
Based on my opinion regarding reading on North and West European America, I find it valuable to shed light on history and acknowledge the experience and contribution of these Ethnic groups in the U.S. Understanding cultural richness helps Americans enhance and appreciate the complexities of ethnicity, race, and culture in their society. Exploring the immigration pattern, the assimilation processes, and the dynamics of the groups facilitates a broad understanding of how various ethnicities have shaped the American culture and Landscape (Alba,2014). In conclusion, the main attribute is to foster more inclusivity and be able to nuance the perspectives of various races and ethnicities in the U.S.
