The commercial environment is highly dynamic. As a result, entrepreneurs are developing new ways to gain the upper hand in highly competitive markets. Some of the current innovative ways include the requirement of managers to travel and do business on various destinations. Notably, this has led to organizations that rely on portable computers that enable data access for whichever business reason the customers require (Rahman et al., 2021). In addition, various organizations fully utilize the services of field teams. It is worth noting that some of an organization’s operations, such as in this project, entail the physical separation of officers from the company’s geographical location, making it hard to indulge in face-to-face duties. The described organizations circumvent their challenges through various means, especially by embracing technology. A more advanced system would be fully-fledged virtual teams that access company operations via video links, including meetings and client interaction (Allard & Cagenius, 2021). Imperatively, most organizations are forced to indulge their managers and some employees as telecommuters for one reason or another. The type of organization in this project is hence one that heavily relies on field operations to thrive in the business community. As a result, it needs to have the requisite technology, hence the need to manage its use, ensuring effective outcomes.

Problems that Need Attention within the Organization

Data safety is a major issue when embracing any technological device in an organization. Thus, adhering to the various guidelines dictating technology management is prudent. Training personnel on using technological devices in various essential operations is among the key guidelines for effective work performance. For instance, using portable data access devices in the organization stated in this project requires high levels of information-record management proficiency (Zulkipli et al., 2022). Imperatively, any negligence poses a detrimental risk where the organization may lose essential irretrievable data. It is worth noting that it is quite costly to collect essential information. In addition, going back to collect client data can be detrimental, especially to the company’s reputation. Such is the case where data collection entails a face-to-face reconnection with the client hence the possibility of a loss of trust. The lack of policies to counter unwarranted negligence that could arise due to a lack of personnel training is the formulation of policies to improve the use of technology (Grigorovich et al., 2021). Another key guideline to manage technology effectively besides training personnel is the investment in the lead administrators of the technological devices. One problem that arises from a deviation from this guideline in the outlined organization is the failure to cope with the dynamic technological environment.

Procedure to Resolve the Problem

Filling the gaps is a sure way to resolve the problems arising from a deviation from the guidelines of technology management. Notably, any problem requires prior identification for a manager to develop effective solutions. The first procedure of identifying the problem is achieved in such a case. Hence, the remaining steps of resolving the outlined challenges include defining the problems, evaluating solutions, and implementing the most viable solutions. Defining the problem, in this case, entails setting them into clear points that can be set as milestones in a plan (O’Rourke et al., 2020). Evaluation, however, entails analyzing the remedies and potential alternatives in case the primary resolutions do not work. It also takes into consideration the frequency of the problem, the reason for the existence of the problem, and its significance. On the other hand, the final bit of the proposed procedure entailing implementation entails the rolling out of a well-developed plan. Such a plan is responsive to the gaps in the adherence to guidelines and the use of any technology.

The priority issue, in this case, is to ensure that the portable devices used by the employees in the organization do not easily lose data. The issue goes hand in hand with negligence, especially among the junior staff. Notably, training is part of implementing the technological plan, hence simultaneously addressing the common and high-priority issues. Another key step is the push for an IT expert to have a managerial position to advance the envisioning of strategic allocation of funds to the department. The leadership position also caters to empowered management of the organization’s technological system (Dhir, 2019). Such a move is especially important in ensuring that there is an individual who can propose and formulate effective policies that safeguard the organization. Furthermore, it creates a responsible party in case of technological challenges while motivating the department to avoid unwarranted negligence.
