Machiavelli is one of the most influential individuals in history who impacted society through some of his writing, such as the prince. Machiavelli had some key issues that he pointed out, such as the issue of statesmanship and wars, the aspects of goodwill and hatred, the matter of free will, and general reception. However, he majored in the leadership aspect, and some of his ideas conquered those of the late Martin Luther King. I shall assume Machiavelli’s character, and I shall write to martin Luther king on the various ways to succeed.
There are aspects that a good leaders should uphold for them to have successful leadership. Firstly, a leader should rather be feared than loved if they cannot afford to be both so that they may avoid revolt. A leader should also accrue the people’s support for action would be impossible without their support. Remember that it is these same people upon whom the policies or activities shall be implemented; hence it is, therefore, crucial that you have their support in all the significant actions that you shall engage in. the leader should have the intelligence to know that trusting, valuing and respecting the people are the keys to winning the support of the people (Gilbert & Felix, 459). Consequently, this shall make the leader able to rely on the group they lead since he works to ensure that every member is helped in refining their skills and polishing their abilities. A leader should also have good virtues, as these shall enable him to make the right and wise choices for the majority. A good leader should also never look for assistance from the mercenary units or auxiliary arms but should rely on his constituents no matter what. A good leader should also be intelligent so that he may make the perfect decision as situations demand.
Excellent and competent people can fail due to these reasons, which I may want you to avoid for you to succeed. These people trust the Karma notion very much. ” trust God, But tie your camel” the famous proverb from the Arabs dictates that Karma or cosmic justice has been prevalent throughout human history. However, aspect is not enough to protect an individual’s job position or anything he may have. Therefore, the individual should take their luck and eliminate the feeling of being entitled to it. Furthermore, many individuals fail due to their behavior of caring too much. A leader or one who is ambitious for success should not pay too much attention to the interpersonal values they think are required of them (Gilbert & Felix, 471). It may even be possible that these interpersonal values are not being evaluated. Hence they are useless. Successful people should be indispensable, and they ensure that the primary agendas come first, above all sentimental factors. This truth may strike you as a horrible and mean fact, but it is the sacrifice that one has to make for success. A successful person also does not spend too much time in one spot. You should know that the world has a lot of opportunities that it can offer and that humanity is not limited to one thing alone. A good example is an individual who toils in a company for about fifteen to twenty years, the same company, and believes that their loyalty to their employer shall inspire that of the employer. After they get laid off, they shall feel a sense of betrayal that is often unusual, and they shall leave the new people.
Also, successful people do not engage in testing or boost their market value. It is a fact that many evil people, such as jerks, make more money than those who seem or pretend to be excellent. It is another horrible truth that I am revealing to you. Also, the less agreeable individuals ask for more than those who are more cooperative, which opens the less pleasant to more opportunities (Machiavelli & Nicolo). For success, you have to look elsewhere, areas with better or stronger hands, and it is through less agreeable that you can achieve this.
In summary, you must evaluate these critical points for success. You should first pay attention to the first essential qualities of being a successful leader. A good leader does not give the cosmic theory too much attention. A good leader shall not care too much about interpersonal values. A good leader does not stay in one place for long, but they are open to many opportunities that the world has to offer. Finally, a good leader does not aim to boost or increase their market value.
