Introduction
The designer can adequately organize a website’s structure if it is planned before it is developed. It aids in the designer’s ability to visualize the precise layout of the website, the images that might be needed, the navigation system, and the overall tone of the site. As part of this assignment, We will create a website for a hypothetical cleaning company. We will primarily create wireframes for each website page, which will serve as guidelines for the final web design.
Executive Statement
A fictional cleaning company named Neat Cleaners wants to launch a website to promote its services. To name a few of the many benefits the company provides, office and house cleaning, clothes washing, compound cleaning, carpet and mattress cleaning, and couch cleaning are all included. The company employs over one hundred knowledgeable cleaners who are well-trained and have all the necessary equipment to complete the tasks.
The company seeks to reach as many customers as possible by marketing its services. Customers should be able to request cleaning quotes and online reservations for services on the website. Users will be able to engage in direct chat with agents or members of the company’s customer care team via the website. Some of the most helpful features on this website are the WhatsApp chat features, quotation requests, and online service booking, as they will improve direct communication with the company. Additional features like the Gallery will make it easier for users to navigate the website and locate any required services.
Users will use this website to make reservations and inquiries of their choosing. Time will be saved, and the company will generate more leads from potential customers. A growing business community will increase the company’s ability to realize revenue (Laudon et al.,2020). Creating an internet presence, cutting expenses on printing advertisements, exchanging information with consumers, providing customer insights, and achieving overall company growth are a few more advantages the company will experience.
Creative strategy
The design of this website aims at coming up with a catchy and easy-to-use website. For the look and feel aspect, the following will be considered.
The site’s colors: The website’s primary color scheme will be green. This attempts to match the Neat Cleaners company’s color brands. This will be the same for every page on the website, from the headers to the navigation menu.
Graphics: To draw in visitors, the website will use eye-catching, light-hearted, and high-quality graphics. These pictures will primarily show the company’s business operations. Images of people tidying up homes, workplaces, coaches, etc. will be included in this.
The website layout and fonts: A clear and simple layout will be implemented across all the web pages to enhance consistency. A straightforward layout with an effective navigation system will make it easier for users to navigate the website. San serif fonts will be carefully chosen to guarantee consistency throughout the website. This also contains the font specifications, which will be carefully chosen for size and weight. For example, the font specifications for all the primary and secondary headings will be the same.
Interactivity and movement: Interactive features such as button hover effects, animations, images, and an interactive gallery will make the website lively and interactive. Using image sliders (carousel) (HTML, 2022) on the home page with a glimpse of the cleaning services offered by the company will improve the overall mood of the site. Since lightweight graphics will be selected, the transition and movement from one page to another will be fast and smooth, allowing users to have the ‘feel’ aspect of the website.
Project Team
This project will extensively use the Bootstrap library for designing an industry-standard website. We can create a stunning and captivating website with a well-organized navigation system with the aid of Bootstrap (Ranjan et al., 2020). Including graphics, such as pictures of cleaning tasks or even a poster, might be necessary. To create a successful multimedia team and create a quality website, we need a combination of the following abilities:
Graphics designing: At least one of the members should be conversant with graphic design. This will assist us in creating carefully crafted images for the website. The graphic designer might also create stunning posters for website advertisements. As a result, this member needs to be well-versed in graphic design programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Web development: Since the project is mainly web-based, all the members must have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and at least one member must have solid knowledge of the same (Kim,2021). This will ensure a smooth design and development of the website.
User interface/User Experience: The members must be proficient in web interface design and architecture. This will support the appropriate choice of colors, theme, fonts, images, and overall website appearance. A user-centered strategy will be prioritized.
Content writing: Since most of the information about the business services will be communicated through text, it is also expected that most team members possess content writing abilities. This will make it possible to express oneself simply in a well-written format. Well-crafted and structured English sentences are essential for effective communication on the internet.
Storyboards
The website will consist of 5 web pages: The home page, the Services page, the Gallery, and the About Us page. Below are the storyboards of the respective web pages.
Home Page:
The homepage will consist of an image slider with welcome and service messages. Several primary services will also be listed together with a WhatsApp chat feature.
About us page
The About Us page will consist of a brief and catch description of the company and how its executives perform their duties to the clients.
Services Page
The services page will list all the services the company offers with the help of pictorial representations.
Gallery page
This page will have a pictorial display of samples of works done. A video will also be part of the page illustrating the entire process and how the cleaning process is done. Below is the storyboard for the gallery page.
Contact page
The contact page allows sending quotation requests, booking, and other inquiries. A map is also provided if you want to visit the company’s offices in person. The storyboard for the Contact Us page is shown below.
Conclusion
For any website development project, planning the website before designing it is a good idea. It enables the designers to plan for the tools and resources needed effectively. We assembled the team, assessed the Neat Cleaner’s website design specifications, and created storyboards that will be utilized throughout the design process.
