Historical Developments of Pocahontas and Benjamin Franklin

The two extraordinary Americans, Benjamin Franklin and Pocahontas have been used in films, novels, plays, and historical works, shaping their life experiences. This is a result of their contribution to the historical developments in the United States. Pocahontas was a Native American woman, daughter to the powerful Chief Powhatan, who led a tribal nation. She was born in 1595. On the other hand, Benjamin Franklin is considered one of the prominent figures in early American history. His historical contribution made him a statesman, publisher, author, scientist, diplomat, and inventor. In this context, Pocahontas and Benjamin Franklin engaged in historical developments in multiple ways, impacting their lives in one way or another.

As stated in the thesis statement above, various historical developments impacted the lives of Pocahontas and Benjamin Franklin. These developments made the two prominent, attracting content creators to use them in their films, novels, and plays. One of the significant historical developments that shaped the life of Benjamin Franklin was inventing the Pennsylvania fireplace in 1742 (Franklin, 1744). This led to the construction of a stove that assisted many people, thus making him famous. On the other hand, Pocahontas was famous for her contribution to assisting the struggling English Settlers in Virginia. Perhaps, she helped these settlers to survive by leading the delegations of the Indians who gave food to the struggling English settlers. These perspectives shaped the lives of the two historian developers since what they did was good, attracting many people to use them as role models in plays, novels, and films.

Despite establishing a fire plant, Franklin implemented a hospital and a library for Philadelphia. Moreover, he pioneered the College of Philadelphia, which advanced to become the University of Pennsylvania (Franklin, 1744). In this case, the two reached the above developments by working hard and being motivated to help. Their developments influence their actions due to their success. All that they did was successful, and they acted toward helping the people in need. For instance, Pocahontas led Indian delegations that helped give food to the struggling English Settlers starving in Jameson (Life Portrait of Pocahontas). On his part, Benjamin Franklin invented fire that could help people in their routine activities like cooking, established a college that would facilitate gaining knowledge and skills, and established a hospital that would address people’s health issues. In this case, they were human and successful, thus influencing their opinions and ideas. Furthermore, their historical developments positively influenced their lives since many people followed in their footsteps. For instance, the two have been used as good examples in novels, films, and plays where content creators want to portray how people should do to others to ensure they live well. Moreover, it is also proper to suggest that their actions shaped their lives because they are highly recognized as good people. Indeed, they are used in historical films, novels, and films to guide the present-day generation since these perspectives exist today.

In conclusion, Pocahontas and Benjamin Franklin played significant roles that positively impacted their lives. This made them be used as role models in films, novels and plays. For instance, Pocahontas was essential in leading the Indian delegations that provided food for starving English Settlers in Jamestown. On the other hand, Benjamin invented fire that could help people in cooking, a college that facilitated the gaining of knowledge, and a hospital that could provide healthcare services to people. All these perspectives made them prominent.
