Global Management: A Case Study of a Coca-Cola Company

Introduction

In addition, this paper will look at how different international cultures around the world interpret cultural appraisal, which is a hallmark of international cultural assessment. This analysis will start with international culture, ethics, value-based concerns, self-audit, and a case study of a Coca-Cola company.

There should be a clear definition of how things are done in the workplace. Leaders at the top of the organization are responsible for ensuring that the business is operating as expected.

There are distinct roles that global managers must fill. As the global marketplace continues to grow and change, managers need a wide range of diverse skills to keep up. To run a successful international business, an organization must maintain good relations with other countries. The normative theory is the most helpful when it comes to grasping ethical concepts, in this theory, individuals are supposed to do defined things, and this theory clarifies why they are required to do so. To keep the relationship going, the manager has to put in a lot of effort here. In other words, ethics is concerned with enforcing presumptions about how an organization should act. Those companies that lead the way in global commerce are more likely to face greater difficulties as a result of political, technological, cultural, economic, and market forces. The likelihood of encountering more significant ethical issues rises in direct proportion to the complexity of the business environment. International conflicts, human rights diversity, and grave violations of human rights are just a few of the ethical issues that a global manager may have to deal with (Sharma, 2020, pg.188-192). In addition, ethical dilemmas stemming from international politics, cybercrime, and corruption are all possibilities for a global manager to face on the job. In the United States, businesses are not permitted to offer, accept, or pay bribes to foreign governments or officials. If they violate this law, they face serious consequences such as a fine of more than two million dollars for any company found guilty of this offense. There are strict rules in the United States prohibiting companies from discriminating against locals, violating local laws, or failing to respect the environment and property of the local community.

Good management, according to normative theories, means adhering to the law even if it hurts. Ethical standards can be developed and implemented by an international manager. One must be involved in the ethical code, even if it means speaking directly to their staff about its importance. The company intends to present itself in this way to comply with all diversification and human rights laws. When an administrator upholds high moral standards, the company’s atmosphere is more likely to be positive and supportive. As long as they work under a leader like this, the workers will never feel like they are allowing a greedy and corrupt person to gain more money illegally. To succeed as a global manager, one needs to have a few traits in common with these leaders. These leaders are confident in their abilities. A high level of certainty has been demonstrated by these leaders. While fully cognizant of the fact that there are leaders who are superior to themselves. These leaders are aware of both their strengths and their weaknesses, and they use this knowledge to balance their power. Their humility and positive impact on the organization are also evident. Value-based leadership is advantageous to the company because it leads to improved employee relations, increased output, and the achievement of the company’s goals.

Coca-Cola is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Coca-Cola sells beverage concentrates, syrups, and finished drinks (including sparkling soft drinks; water and juice, and dairy). Coca-Cola operates in over 200 countries. Coca-Cola helps the global economy (Seemann, 2020, vol.74). The corporation controls over 400 brands and is a household name. Coca-Cola has over 900 million monthly customers. Coca-Cola, the world’s leading soda beverage, has great resources and an excellent brand image, therefore it’s accepted worldwide. Coca-aim Cola’s is to segment the market everywhere.

Culture abroad

Coca-Cola and its businesses are popular. Because of Coca-marketing, people throughout the world drink more beverages than before. In this industry, the common people and authority figures are close. I have participated in a wide range of leadership activities, and I have provided effective leadership throughout those experiences. The student body at any given university represents a wide range of ethnicities and nationalities. Universities in the United States are popular educational destinations for students from other countries. The capacity to manage a worldwide business that is defined by multiple cultures can be demonstrated by holding a leadership position in a university and producing the best possible results. My overall score, based on a scale of one to 10, is seven points out of ten. It takes time and effort to absorb the wisdom of those who came before you if you want to become an effective leader. Learning can be accomplished through seeing other individuals or through reading, as well as through gaining and applying certain theoretical characteristics. I instead focus on raising the percentage of people who comprehend international culture to ten percent, as the fraction that is still lacking in knowledge is still large. Reading books, going to well-known worldwide managers’ offices, and questioning such individuals will bring my understanding of this characteristic up to its full potential by the time this calendar year ends.

The behavior of an individual as well as how employees interact with one another within a company is an example of ethics, which is another quality that contributes to the success of a business. I have no doubt they no can maintain a morally upstanding demeanor. There came a point in time when a leader was required back in the village to represent the young people, but I was not present when they met. After asking who would be suitable for the job of the chairperson, they gave my name, and according to the information that was provided to me, there was nobody who would challenge me for the position. People look favorably upon me as a result of the way I conduct myself. Eight points out of 10 is a good score for me when it comes to my behavior. As I continue to hone my abilities as a leader, and not too much further down the road, I am confident that I will eventually obtain the remaining two percent. I have a very basic understanding of how to obey the law. As a result of my adaptability, I can coexist peacefully with anyone I happen to be living with, and my roommates tend to enjoy our time together after only a short period together. After acquiring the two percent, I will make an additional effort to become acquainted with the legal systems of many diversity.

First and foremost is that which is excellent. Leadership that is founded on one’s values and characteristics are very remarkable due to the rapid pace of change. I would say that I am above average, based on a scale of one to 10, which would be five percent. I contribute significantly to the success of my leadership team. As soon as my superiors recognized my worth and the contributions I could make, the administration started evolving and getting better.

In conclusion, the research has investigated the significant characteristics that are required of a global manager in an operating environment that undergoes shifts in a very short amount of time. I have utilized a variety of academic theories, such as to explain culture, normative theory, and value-based leadership theory. Doing this has allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the world around me. According to the study’s conclusions, cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication are critical for corporate growth and development. On the subject of cultural and value-based traits, as well as the importance of these aspects in management in general, I have examined these issues. I have conducted an analysis on myself to determine what % of the time I am out. I can create those abilities. Because of this examination, I now have a better knowledge of the fundamental characteristics that are required for effective management. We are aware that being a global manager comes with a number of duties that, as a result of our study, call for improved and specialized skill sets.
