Following the unfortunate incident at the Travis Scott concert in Texas, there has been a heightened focus on safety concerns and the necessity for efficient crowd management at sports venues. In order to further improve safety in event management, I went to a nearby sports facility with the purpose of creating a thorough safety checklist. The purpose of this essay is to delineate the essential elements of this checklist and furnish an executive summary that covers the age, location, safety considerations, and suggested solutions for the institution.
In order to guarantee thorough safety precautions, the sports facility’s safety checklist takes a multidimensional approach. First and foremost, it is crucial to conduct infrastructure inspections, which include assessing the state of entry and exit points, structural stability, and accessibility for people with disabilities (Ludvigsen & Parnell, 2023). Examining the availability and usability of fire extinguishers, the sufficiency and accessibility of emergency exits, and the existence of clearly designated evacuation routes are all part of being prepared for emergencies. The adoption of measures to minimize overcrowding, the capacity of seating places, and the presence of designated crowd control professionals are all crucial components of crowd management protocols. Examining the efficacy of monitoring equipment and the way security personnel are deployed and trained are two aspects of security measures. It is important to evaluate staff training protocols to make sure that employees are proficient in first aid, emergency response, and effective communication. In order to provide a thorough framework for improving the safety of the sports facility, this checklist attempts to identify potential vulnerabilities in infrastructure, emergency planning, crowd management, security, and staff training.

The crowd control strategy, while detailed, needed more precise procedures for dealing with huge crowds, potentially leading to overcrowding and safety risks. These concerns highlight the importance of targeted improvements in infrastructure, signage, stocking, security deployment, and crowd management measures.
The sports facility being looked at has a long past that goes back decades, which shows how well-known it is. Its old infrastructure, on the other hand, causes problems, as shown by cracked sidewalks and old light fixtures. Nowadays, following current safety rules is very important. For example, not having ADA-compliant ramps at some entrances shows that something needs to be fixed right away. Because the venue is in a highly populated urban area, it can be hard to keep the crowd under control. The fact that emergency exits are not clearly marked in high-traffic areas makes things even worse, which shows how badly things need to be fixed in order to handle big groups and make sure that help gets to them quickly in an emergency. Together, these solutions reduce possible dangers and strengthen the facility’s general security and safety for attendees and event participants, creating a safer atmosphere.
