It is necessary to turn off these electronic distractions to keep alone time from being affected. People can retake control of their mental space by setting their limits for screen time, choosing what to see on social media, and taking short breaks from the digital world.

On the other hand, we should recognize that people are building connections with other human beings around social loneliness and technological disengagement. Isolation is an avenue for a more contemplative life, but actual human connections are the lifelines when storms of life come our way (Labban et al. 680). People who genuinely interact recognize respect and acceptance; they feel they belong, increasing their emotional wellbeing.
