As technology develops, it improves our lives in various ways. When it comes to education, technology has helped a great deal in increasing the quality of education that students receive. Through technology, education occurs not only in and outside classroom spaces. Students now do not have to go to their classrooms to learn. Instead, they can study from anywhere where they feel comfortable. Looking from a geographical area means students can take advantage of their education even if they cannot attend a class for various reasons. Technology has played a significant role in making learning more straightforward and less complicated. For students to access technology better, they must possess multiple skills to keep up with the technology trend. Although technology has numerous positive impacts on increasing the quality of education, it has also led to some malpractices in education, such as cheating. However, despite technology’s negative impacts on education, it has more positive effects, such as access to more learning materials or information, reduction in educational costs, support for different learners, and helps students stay in touch with current technology advancements.
Technology has played a considerable role in ensuring students get easy information access. Through technology, students can find information quickly and accurately from various search engines and e-books, replacing the traditional textbook. Moreover, students can get one-on-one help through educational videos anywhere instead of looking for tutors (Singh et al., 2021). Some educational videos students access through technology serve as better scholarly sources since they provide various descriptions of various concepts that teachers may not be able to provide in a class setting, leading to better understanding. Search engines and e-books have made it easy to access direct information since all a student has to do is search for a specific topic and get the necessary information; however, when it comes to traditional textbooks, students have to go through various books before they can get the information they need which leads to use of more time than necessary. Easy access to information teaches students to learn more than they can in school. While schools follow a curriculum timetable, the internet provides unlimited information, giving students more information regarding various topics. Therefore, technology has helped a lot with access to endless information, making it easy for students to acquire much information that helps them in classroom work and various things they may meet in their daily lives. In the past, students had to wait for the teachers to provide different information since they needed easy access. However, since with technology, students can easily access information, they can research and choose what they want to do in the future without relying on teachers or elders for information on different careers.
Moreover, the internet has led to a reduction in education costs. Through technology, students and teachers have easy access to various resources that they need for education, for instance, books. Teachers can now easily find textbooks online, saving the money they would use to purchase them (Abu Talib et al., 2021). The reduction in educational costs has decreased tuition fees, making it easier for low-income families to afford to take their children to school. High tuition fee leads to low-income families needing help racing enough school fees to send their children to school ends, leading to some of the children needing help accessing the education they desire. Therefore, to a particular extent, technology has helped the accessibility of education. Moreover, students do not have to attend schools to access the education they need, saving on the cost of various necessities a student may need. Since students do not have to attend school, they can work part-time jobs to support their education. For instance, some college students from low-income families may have a challenge raising their tuition fees. However, through technology, they can efficiently work and attend classes at their own convenient time hence being able to increase their tuition fee and learn simultaneously.
Technology helps support different types of learners. In every classroom, students study differently and need other learning skills to understand various concepts. In typical classrooms, it is impossible to reach out to all the learners using multiple learning skills, which they may find easy however, through technology, an educator can connect with their learners directly and practice diverse learning styles and experiences (Carstens et al., 2021). Various platforms allow the instructor to connect directly with each student, no matter where they are or their challenges. By clicking now with the student, the educator can understand the student better, hence which learning style can fit which student. After learning the best learning style for each student, an instructor can put them to use and improve their student’s learning experience. Some students take time to understand concepts; therefore, through technology, students are free to take however long they may need to understand an idea they can study at their own pace. This makes it for students who take time to understand concepts to learn without worrying about being left behind by their peers. Moreover, various platforms offer assignments to students depending on their learning. They are for allowing the students to learn and do different tasks at their own pace without facing any pressure from their peers.
In the world, people are using technology for almost everything, which has made it a part of each person’s day-to-day activities then. Through technology in education, students can keep up with the current technological advancements, which helps them blend into the contemporary world effectively after completing their education (Rahmatullah et al., 2022). Moreover, by keeping up with technological advancements, students can collect information about different fields and develop new talents. Some of the new skills that students may develop through keeping up with recent technology advancements may help them secure jobs in the future. Most of the companies today are more interested in creativity and innovation. Who can help develop new ideas and create unique products through interacting with current technology for advancement; students can develop creativity and innovation due to the diversity of the advances. Moreover, students can secure employment by keeping up with the recent technological advancement since it’s now compulsory to have different technology skills before obtaining work. Since companies now use technology in their day-to-day activities, they need employees who have hard inquiries. Knowledge and skills in technology make it easy for the company to operate.
As days pass, technology continues to develop, covering most parts of each person’s life. Technology has had different impacts on various things, for instance, education. Technology has positively impacted education in multiple ways, for example, easy access to learning materials or information, reduction in the cost of education, and support for different types of learners. Technology has led to easy access to information and learning material things; a student can easily access information through the internet through various search engines and e-books. Access to information from the internet saves students time since they take little time to access information compared to traditional textbooks. Moreover, technology has increased the cost of education since it has led to easy access to resources such as books. The students and teachers do not have to spend money on books, reducing tuition fees. Through the use of technology in education, students can keep up with different technology co advances ends helping them to perform their day-to-day activities effectively and also be able to secure employment in the future. Lastly, technology supports various types of learners; through it, teachers can easily interact one-on-one with every student, understanding them and knowing which mode of learning to apply for the student to understand different concepts easily.
