There are two stanzas that are long, and the other stanza is short.

Both poems have similarities and differences in musical flow, but my little dreams By Georgia Douglas Johnson have more differences in the musical flow. There are only two long stanzas, and every line of those two stanzas also has a different rhythm .it not like you can read every line out of it because of the way it’s written. The “Heart of a Woman” musical flow is more like a diary, but in my little dreams, there is no way people can keep reading it because of the rhythm. (Stimpson, 1998)

Images used in My little dreams in this poem are the sun-the day, the night, the stanza that is light and happy, and Stars-dreams; people can reach there if they try and don’t give up, while images used in the heart of a Woman is: The sea-the way it feels, the wave it gives you and the bitter taste of your tears. Both Poems have Similar in Theme and Style. The first poem is “My little dreams” This poem is about how she hopes for a better life for her son, how she dreams that he will be able to walk into school on his own two feet, how she wants him to learn how to read and write because every boy learns these simple things. This poem was very real because my older brother has Down syndrome.

The difference between the two poems in terms of the stylistic device is that the earlier poem “The Heart of a Woman” is more formal than the later poem “My little dreams.” The poet describes how she felt, and in her diary, she was writing down her feelings about her daughter, who was born with severe retardation. Now she is ten years old but still small to me and as beautiful as the day she was born. But my arms are empty; I am always alone. “my little dreams,” “my heart, dreams.” “I dream that all I can be is good enough, slender and strong like a willowy weed on a riverbank or a white birch, with arms open wide to embrace all that comes along.”
