I am driven by various motivating factors to promote health-based welfare in underserved communities in line with the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program’s mission. Its mission is to grow the nursing labor force within underserved societies via its selection of beneficiaries potentially able to stay with their facility’s locations to keep serving needy individuals after fulfilling their facility’s dedication (Bureau of Health Workforce, n.d.). As a CNA, I do entry roles services in facilities with underserved community patients to promote the facility’s public health efforts. I put a lot of effort into offering showering, feeding, and transport services to various facility patients. Other times, I stock medical provisions within the establishments and log patient data into suitable systems to promote organizational efficiency. All in all, as a CNA, I put my nursing capabilities to maximum use to promote patient outcomes in the wide-ranging facilities I work in.

One of the factors motivating me to help underserved community members is my intense and genuine desire to offer aid to needy people. The desire comes from the fact that I am a very compassionate and empathetic person, who hates seeing anyone suffer when I can be there for them (Apostolidi et al., 2022). Since underserved communities lack accessibility to health resources and experts, I can avail myself to be there to offer them my expertise. I always want to feel like I have helped people in one way or another as long as I have the resources and energy to do it. That gives me a sense of contentment, making me constantly seek to offer care and compassion to the patients I am assigned to.

Another thing that motivates me is the continuity of learning different, novel ways of availing my nursing services. Different facilities offering help to needy or underserved communities have diverse ways of carrying out their operations. I am always open to working in different facilities enabling me to learn and adopt different working strategies to do with catering to patients’ needs. I want to keep working with others in diverse organizations, including those under the Nursing Corps Scholarship Program to learn different manners of providing emergency, treatment, and rehabilitation services to patients (Shin et al., 2020). Learning such diverse skills will enable me to effectively satisfy the wants of diverse underserved community members possessing wide-ranging needs. I will be able to avail my services in short-staffed healthcare facilities and promote the welfare of underserved community members.

Additionally, I am motivated by the need to promote positive change in underserved communities. I know that such communities are short-staffed and lack accessibility to many other healthcare resources. I also believe that many individuals in such communities have lost hope in ever obtaining sustainable healthcare services. So, I would like to show such communities that people like me are there to satisfy their diverse healthcare needs. I would like to offer what I have learned in my nursing course to them concerning effective service provision (Shin et al., 2020). I would like the individuals in these underserved communities to get hope and feel that there are many nurses out there like me willing to promote their interests. To feel that hope indeed exists for them, they would have to see actions. Practicing such actions requires me to offer my nursing services in different facilities within low-income areas.

The opportunity to rise to different challenges within underserved communities also intrinsically motivates me to aid such societies. I am always a high-achieving person and that is why I have reached where I am with regards to my nursing vocation. I know that underserved communities suffer different challenges due to their inaccessibility to healthcare resources. I know that short-staffed facilities need very patient, dedicated, and hardworking nurses. I know that I can put all my nursing expertise to maximum use in such facilities when hired there. I am never afraid to deal with complicated healthcare patients as long as I know I can help them in one way or another. So I would like to offer my services to underserved communities by filling any staffing gaps with great dedication, hard work, patience, and competence.

Furthermore, I am driven by the fact that I have the qualities needed to work with diverse patients, even those in underserved communities (Apostolidi et al., 2022). Already, I am a CNA who has various nursing skills and experience. I am also a people person and I know catering to patients in underserved communities needs interacting with the people. I am very well-suited to asking patients questions about their welfare to determine their health problems. I also know how to effectively interact with patients to offer them advice and any other relevant, necessary information for their welfare promotion. I know how to act professionally and will be able to do my work well in any short-staffed facility to promote patients’ welfare.
