The multidimensional nature of such influences highlights the vitality of embracing and critically evaluating the social and cultural backgrounds that make us who we are as individuals. We must be conscious of their contributions to our self-perception and worldview. Recognizing that these factors exert profound implications in our lifestyle and vocational choices is crucial, most notably while practicing advanced care nursing, where the patient’s care experience requires reflection on and sensitivity to the individual life context and personal history. For first-time interns seeking advanced nursing practice, these effects will shape how they look at things, how they will unquestionably value them, and how they will apply the concepts whose efficacy they can determine over time. While having cultural knowledge and ability is of utmost importance for addressing the unique needs of people with different backgrounds, adapting to the cultural environment matters most. Additionally, this awareness of how values work together and differentiate for an individual’s ethos can facilitate enhanced ethics-based decision-making and quality unbiased care provision that is culturally sensitive.

Family

Family background and home upbringing are the basis for moral, ethical, and faith values. Living in a particular environment, exposure to some culture, and parents’ raising framework are the contributing factors shaping how we see life, from work to relationships. Culture, religion, and morals passed down from generation to generation within the family give us the foundation for our ethical behaviors. As kids grow, so do their views. The way they act depends mainly on the values learned at home. If a family emphasizes traits like hard work, a disciplined life, and being ethical, the child will likely absorb this and apply it to work. As a kid, I never had to travel across some town’s boundary to attend a small class at a private or charter school. I was in public education from K through high school. I am still puzzled and beleaguered by this question of my current life if I had been to a public school. My eldest daughter (Class Two in the public school system) and my youngest daughter (Nursery in the independent school) currently attend school. Their educational disparity is rooted deep within society, which plays a pivotal role in making their perception of themselves different. My first-born daughter is excited about attending her little sister’s private school and has her name on the waitlist. We have great expectations that she will have the same chances of getting the value of education (Croucher, 2019).

Cultural experiences are fundamental in shaping people’s lifestyles and healthcare choices.

We continuously absorb ethical and cultural standards, believing they tend to shape our lifestyle. Social and cultural variables also significantly contribute to dealing with our career, which, as a result, affects our lifestyle by making demands of work, unbalanced work life, social assumptions, and expectations. Adapting to cultural standards by balancing expectations with aspirations is an exercise where you negotiate with traditions, values, and norms to become responsible for a lifestyle that reconciles your desires. Most frequently, clear motivations are combined with personal values and cultural identity, which dictates options we view as being in line with our beliefs and social norms. Although globalization and cultural values positively influence our personal growth, resolving cultural inequality and individual aspirations has always been part of the picture. Building cultural competence from patient assessment to health promotion and ensuring clear and effective communication helps nurture trusting relationships with patients, recognizing the different inter-cultural factors and, consequently, better health. With healthcare diversity and inclusion being the essence, cultural sensitivity needs consideration, but the culturally competent and patient-centered approach is the key. Addressing health care provision that discriminates in its service delivery is of the essence; Advanced Practice Nurses take the frontline in this battle, providing equal and inclusive care for all. Apart from recognizing and incorporating social and cultural inputs in the day-to-day responsibilities of an APN, this dramatically contributes toward allowing them to understand better the patients they handle and creating a conducive environment that fosters having the best healthcare system throughout the country.
