Florida Standards Assessment (FSA)

Introduction

Florida Standards Assessments measure the student’s education gains and progress. The tests are taken in different languages, including English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, and end-of-course subjects, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. These examinations can measure whether the students in the state of Florida are making progress in terms of the curriculum standards set by the state. This consists of applying critical thinking, and one will learn how to challenge assumptions and figure out which information is essential.

It will help the student share the study experience with another person, keep the student motivated, remain accountable, and share resources for study.

  1. Space out the studying.

The student will space out studying to break the study into different phases (Cruickshank et al., 2016). It includes spreading the study over short periods across days or weeks.

  1. Memorization.

The students must quiz themselves by actively recalling the information they are trying to study. (Cruickshank et al., 2016). It includes actively engaging in remembering the information that was learnt in the classroom.

  1. Reading comprehension.

It will include the student’s understanding of what has been learnt and help develop critical thinking and memory skills, focusing on the student’s ability to solve problems.

Conclusion (Valuable Lessons Learnt)

I have learnt that study skills will be essential to the student’s ability to succeed in standardized tests. They will enhance the ability of the student to learn effectively and also to absorb, process and retain information that has been learnt in the classroom. The academic performance of the student will improve immensely with the use of study skills. I also realize that the student’s confidence will increase significantly with the proper use of study skills in the classroom (Cruickshank et al., 2016). Through this, the student will be equipped with the tools and techniques to navigate the various challenges experienced in the quest for knowledge. Students who can implement study skills will generally perform better in standardized tests. It will play a unique role, especially in gathering and retaining information about a particular subject or course. I understand that the student is expected to understand how to use particular study schools in different situations to realise positive classroom outcomes.
