Examine the Effectiveness of Online Learning Versus a Traditional Classroom on Student Outcomes and Engagement

The researchers have identified the learning activities in both the online and the traditional classroom settings as critical in the assessment of students’ educational programs.

Besides, the researchers have demonstrated that the teaching mode significantly impacts the skills and knowledge of students engaging in learning activities. It is shown that when online learning is compared to traditional classroom learning, the students involved in online learning are presented with sufficient resources that offer them extensive resources. The researchers suggest that online learning involves the utilization of the Internet, ICT, and web-based technology to transfer and obtain information virtually through the utilization of multiple electronic mediums (Fatima et al., 22). Online learning has intensified flexibility that allows students to learn what they want regardless of their individual time and place constraints. Flexibility offers an enhanced chance for education to occur irrespective of the existing conditions within a surrounding area (Abduh et al., 1039).

However, they oppose the perception that the online classroom setting is better than the traditional classroom setting. The researchers claim that complex concepts cannot be easily understood through the exploitation of the learning platforms. Similarly, they feel like there is always a need for additional resources to be offered to realize success in the e-learning model of learning. The resources required include electricity, sufficient internet connection, and other supportive infrastructure to intensify the success of the e-learning models (Fatima et al., 24). Moreover, in the event there are internet connection and technicality issues, the online learning activities may need to be improved, decreasing their effectiveness in influencing the learning outcomes of students (Abduh et al., 1039). The opposition is an outcome of multiple research studies that have been conducted involving students from diverse academic departments, including those who are currently studying medicine concepts that have visualized difficulty in the utilization of online-based platforms. For an agreement to be realized on the topic, there is a need for more research to be conducted by considering students who are currently studying courses that have complex concepts to determine if the online platforms are effective in the intensification of student engagement and academic performance. The research is supposed to be experimental to understand the role of time limits in intensifying the outcomes of online learning operations.
