The culture has been popular in Japan and the world for many years. Several factors have contributed to the rise of the anime culture. Anime has been popular for numerous years because of many factors. Programs associated with anime are increasing globally, and the students have formed the largest portion of the audience (Hassan et al., 2016). First, anime has been popular since it offers positive impacts towards business personnel to increase their promotion for services and products.
Anime is observed as a portion of fantasy. The main reason is that anime has the capability of interlacing together images linked to fantasy and prevalent in Japanese culture. Additionally, it can interlace fantasy from other cultures available worldwide and term as relevant to the world that has been globalizing world. In Malaysia, the popularity of anime has increased for the past 20 years (Hassan et al., 2016). The main reason is that Malaysian fans have a huge fondness associated with the features of the anime, and they are usually dressing up as some of the characters present in the anime.
Another perspective of its popularity is that people can identify with the characters present in the anime. The reason is that members that comprise the audience can enhance the interpretation of texts and experience the reception of the events as if they were occurring inside them. People also derive symbols from the characters within the anime and help them to transform the attitudes that they possess, like affinity and imitation. The theory connected to identification has become vital for several years since it relies on emotions (Hassan et al., 2016). An influence on member’s identity exists when there is an identification with the real character using an image. Consequently, individuals adopt the characters which eventually, transforms their attitudes and behaviors for a very long period.
The identification with an image can be real or imagined, and the members of the audience empathize with the characters and embrace the identity of the characters. Some individuals in society then adopt the symbols of the characters present in the anime. Multiple characters are available in the anime, and every person can find one which suits them. For example, it is fundamental to children who are within the adolescence stage because it contributes to their adult development (Hassan et al., 2016). Hence, as they leave their nuclear family, they are modeled by the anime.
They teach them to be strong like adults when they are faced with challenges. In Japanese films, there are several characters that portray resilience when they are faced with challenges. Therefore, it offers a representation of Japanese culture that demonstrates that children are independent. There is numerous artist who invests heavily in art, ensuring that the developed anime is endowed with everything. Therefore, a significant number of individuals watch anime because they are quality. Keen observations on the characters portray their drawings in a detailed manner. The mechanism in which their faces are transforming is easily observed. The backgrounds of the anime have lights and shadows that make it be perceived as a real scene.
There are real topics and related characters. Although anime represents cartoons that are serious, it also illustrates things that take place in real life and the real world. It usually does not provide discussions concerning excellent subjects like laughter and happiness. Nonetheless, it also discussed topics that surround depression, sorrow, and sadness. Compared with western cartoons, anime is different. They display serious series that are cute and colorful, and they are associated with serious themes such as mental illness and post-traumatic stress depression (PTSD). Furthermore, they illustrate the challenges of surviving and searching for a purpose in life. They are not only meant for the children but can be watched by anyone who finds its interesting. Japanese anime has influenced people in the entire world from different perspectives. For example, it has transformed Indonesian citizens in many ways. For example, it has promoted nationalism which defended the integrity of the nation and the state through the appreciation and animation of the history, customs, culture, and the struggles that the nation of Indonesia has witnessed since independence. It promoted supreme loyalty of the state and the nation through the animation of the history, customs, and the struggle that the nation of Indonesia has to pass through in order to gain independence. Loyalty develops due to the acknowledgement of the collective identity that is unique from others (Hatami, 2018). Particularly, it takes place due to the existence linked to the culture, language, and heredity. It calls for the reconstruction of Indonesian nationalism.

Additionally, anime enables the citizens of Indonesia to learn about their culture and appreciate its development (Hatami, 2018). Based on the display of anime on popular televisions (TVs), young citizens were introduced to the culture of Indonesia at a very tender age.
Japanese anime has also initiated a huge influence in China. For example, there has been a surge in young Chinese who have developed an interest in the culture of Japanese. The interest has been initiated due to increased influence from popular culture, pop music, movies, and anime. The increased exportation of movies and anime into china made the youths develop an interest in the Chinese culture. Another research study argues that the Japanese promoted influence in china due to the pleasant psychological impacts. They watch anime in order t entertain themselves and enhance relaxation (Wu, 2021). Similar to movies and novels, anime entails an efficient form of art that enables an individual to feel so good.

When people are watching, they develop and grow like the Japanese individuals and the entire japan. Lastly, the aspect of cultural proximity is what promotes the popularity of anime (Wu, 2021). China shares multiple forms of culture with japan, and the Japanese drama satisfies Chinese citizens when compared to foreign drama.
