My interest in joining the Air Force is backed up by the patriotic nature I have for the nation and my strong desire to serve the country. My nature has always been to impact lives and contribute to more than oneself; hence, the opportunity to join the Air Force will guarantee the chance to serve many citizens through national defense. Moreover, I am also interested in joining the Air Force because it is the epitome of diverse career opportunities other than offering defense to our lovely nation and its people. Having a background in nursing, it would be my pleasure to practice my profession and ensure that all soldiers get access to medical care during their service period and that health safety standards are ensured for an improved life of the soldiers. The Air Force has also built a good reputation as an institution that has embraced the implementation of new technologies across its operations in both defense and career opportunities, such as nursing (Snyder, 2022). I would appreciate working with the new technology equipment and tools to execute my duties, for they assure efficiency and effectiveness.
My current education situation is that I am currently pursuing nursing, which I would be soon expecting to graduate. I am currently working in a part-time job that does not pay well enough to cater to all my needs. Hence, my motive is to seek a stable career path. One of my long-term goals is to apply for higher levels of the nursing profession once I have graduated to sharpen my skills in the nursing field. I also intend to improve my communication skills to ensure that I develop clear and concise communication in speaking, hence being in a better position to execute my tasks while working with a team. Better communication will also help me build a stronger relationship with family, friends, and work colleagues around me. I also intend to continue enrolling in programs and seminars that enhance my problem-solving skills by teaching me how to approach challenges creatively and logically to establish the most effective solutions (Fitriani et al., 2020). What I need is to have a secure job that aligns with my interests, passion, and long-term goals, such as working with the Air Force, which has proven to provide a replica of my core needs.
Since I have never worked in the Air Force, I do not have the actual picture of what the duties seem like when working with the forces; hence, my concerns are based on understanding the experience. I am a confident person and enthusiastic about joining the Air Force, but I lack the proper information about the operations, actual roles, and everyday duties, hence raising my concerns to seek awareness. Some of the specific concerns include the living conditions in camps and air force bases, especially during deployments. Other than the working conditions, I have more concerns about my personal development. I am concerned to learn how joining the army may impact my personal life. How frequently will I connect to friends and family? What are the possible impacts serving in the Air Force have on my mental health? How will joining the Air Force impact my personal goals? What are the types of dangers and levels of risks involved in serving in the Air Force?
Despite my confidence and positivity about joining the Air Force, I am not limited to errors or limitations; hence, aspects like physical and health issues may become a limitation during the recruitment process. I may not be aware of underlying medical conditions or physical conditions that may become evident during the recruitment service, hence becoming a limiting factor. The Air Force entails minimum physical and medical conditions to be attained, which may include overall body composition, fitness standards, endurance, and strength, which are determined during the recruitment practice.
