NPR Music aired a Mariachi Flor De Toloache performance at “Tiny Desk Concerts” on January 8, 2016. This Concert was held at the National Public Radio Music Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The genre comprises traditional folk music from Mexico, reflected by the band’s excellent use of diverse instruments. The Concert began with members of the Mariachi band playing a lovely melody for a few minutes before transitioning into an enthusiastic mariachi jam session. Following that frenetic jam session, the actual Concert provided a terrific glimpse into Mexican traditional music and culture and showcased Mariachi Flor De Toloache’s musical skill.

Since it has been played multiple times, this has become one of my favorite concerts. The band’s outfits attracted my attention, and I believe they were ideally matched to their performance. Since I love mariachi music and Mexican culture, the Concert gave me a deeper appreciation for both. The performance made me feel both excited and nostalgic at the same time. The Concert was basic but tremendously exquisite, showcasing the band’s talent as musicians and their ability to express themselves via performance. The band members performed their instruments flawlessly, demonstrating their enormous talent and ability to play in any manner. The harmonies, which were delicate yet strong, were especially outstanding. They can attain high notes in several songs, particularly “La Chilenita,” while preserving a traditional feel, as opposed to some more contemporary bands who use more computer synths and intricate drumming. Overall, Mariachi Flor De Toloache’s performance at the Concert was a lovely acoustic performance that showcased the band’s passion for folk music and culture and their exceptional abilities.

The concert experience taught me that education is a never-ending process. The performance allowed me to study and gain new ideas from the songs, lyrics, instrumentation, and composers. I would not have known this if it hadn’t been for this event; it was an incredible learning experience. The event taught me about instruments and talented music composers. I can use the event experience to generate new ideas that can be put into the arts to make it more interesting throughout society.

Students are urged to explore the local arts and cultural practices as soon as we arrive at our field trip site. They must also reflect on what they have learned about the location and its history. The students will then be able to paint a mural, play various instruments, create art with various mediums, create artwork based on archaeological evidence, adopt an original dance routine for the town’s street performance tour, or perform in front of live audiences who will applaud them throughout their performance. Participation in these activities will assist students in connecting the arts to content-based standards.

To summarize, children must have the opportunity to participate in meaningful field trips that include various activities to gain higher-level thinking abilities. Students must be able to speak the language and apply what they have learned to comprehend the importance of arts integration properly. To accomplish this, they must be allowed to participate in meaningful activities that build deep comprehension of topics while also engaging their brains and hearts. Because students will be participating in various art-related activities on their field excursions, they must be exposed to various perspectives and experiences. Before individuals can properly enjoy the arts, they must set aside their views or stereotypes about the arts and cultures.
