Under the author’s ideals, a writer is a sort of celebrity. Having published and acted in various works, there would be more people willing to share information about the life of any glorified writer and their connection to him. There is an ever-growing population of people who believe that the works of William Shakespeare do not belong to him. Still, there has been no decisive proof that sways the argument strongly in either direction. William Shakespeare couldn’t have written all of the works under his name because there isn’t that much information about him or his life as Twain, M. (2022) believes. This short essay aims to show that before anyone can claim Shakespeare did not write all of his works, there needs to be definitive evidence that reveals more about his own life and solid proof that gives a solid reason to believe it was another writer.
Willy Shakes is considered one of the greatest writers, and a lot of the plays and poems are still being used today. He has given people many different ideas to work with, and many people do not believe that someone with his background could have created all of the works that he did. Shahan, J. (2017) state that the idea that Shakespeare’s authorship of his plays and poems is a matter of conjecture, and the idea that the ‘authorship controversy’ be taught in the classroom, are the exact equivalent of current arguments that ‘intelligent design’ be taught alongside evolution. It is essential to argue if Shakespeare wrote all these works, but it is still hard to come up with a final answer because there are so many options without objective evidence.
Other names like Christopher Marlow and Sir Frances Bacon are only the words people have given as alternative authors (Reporters, B. 2022). The arguments all depend on the background of the people arguing, and this is a question that more people are asking. Some of the most significant issues that show Shakespeare writing these works come from the fact that he does not have the education required to know all the specific details about the stories he would write about. There is also only a little information about his actual life, so the biggest pro-Shakespeare argument is basically that he was the first one connected to the stories.
Even though there isn’t enough proof to show that Shakespeare wrote everything that is credited to him, he still has a more considerable following because that is the whole idea of a writer: the fact that someone could imagine many different scenarios and all kinds of drama and put them on paper to last forever. People have to believe that someone can create something that has lasted so long. Most of the arguments that are being made against Shakespeare are that he is too good, which is a bad starting point for an opinion. Still, many valuable facts and alternating theories show it might not be his writing.
Shakespeare’s name has been tied to his works for so long that it is a normal thought for people. It is not easy to prove that anyone else wrote those plays and poems, so he gets to keep his credit, but it is also hard to prove that he did write it. This shows that almost anyone could have written these plays and sonnets, but until more research or better evidence is found, we have to agree that Shakespeare is the original author.
Revisions, opposing views, and Analysis
Having the prompt above enhances the likelihood that I will respond correctly and reduces the possibility of making mistakes in my final paper. However, if I had continued to work on the paper, I would have made numerous changes. To begin, I would ensure that my essay is free of grammatical errors, such as collect use of word forms, the necessary appearance of commas in compound predicate, correct spelling of words, correct article usage, such as using the word “the Greatest” rather than greatest, proper use of tenses and verbs, and correct spelling of terms. Consequently, I would have guaranteed that all borrowed ideas were cited correctly. When I allude to, synthesize, paraphrase, or draw from some other source, I would include an in-text citation. There would be a reference entry in my reference list for each in-text citation in my work. My final essay would also have an intriguing title that would entice any reader who came across it.
I would write to support the opposite of this essay because I believe Shakespeare’s reputation as the author of plays and sonnets is preserved, in my opinion. The debate about Shakespeare’s authorship began in the 1850s. Over 200 years after his death, American writer Delia Bacon and British bookseller William Henry Smith wrote opposing views. They claimed that philosopher Francis Bacon and poet Walter Raleigh were much more probably the “actual” writers of Romeo and Juliet and other pieces attributed to Shakespeare. Additionally, Kathman (2020) is also confident with the notion that confident that Shakespeare’s works are his own, as he states in his text.
Shakespeare’s impact on the English language is very significant. As per Charlotte Brewer, who wrote the guide’s section on “Shakespeare and the OED,” Shakespeare is consistently mentioned as the solitary user of a string of words denoted in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), which is the ultimate account of the English language (Beal, 2020). The more Shakespeare’s vocabulary one looks up, the more one discovers that, as per the OED, he emerges to have utilized language uniquely or more frequently to have developed usages that later became entrenched in the language, as Brewer noted. If you’ve ever stated “It’s Greek to me,” “stood on ceremony,” “tongue-tied,” “hoodwinked,” or “in a pickle,” you’re referencing Shakespeare, which indeed demonstrates he created those plays and poetry and therefore deserves to maintain his credit. This also suggests that the author may very well have written all of the pieces himself.
Ultimately, the article above offers a strong foundation for the argument, and I feel the author has successfully stated their viewpoints. The paper successfully summarized what the reader might anticipate throughout the essay in the introductory section, critically deduced the arguments using past evidence, and concluded with a firm conclusion that ties everything together and links it to the view. Even though the essay has several grammar errors, referencing, and styling, I feel that it is excellent if it is only improved.
