Analyzing and Assessing Personality: Neha Qamar

In this report, I will use my TriMetrix results to analyze my personality to develop a career development that portrays and gives me a brand or an identity that is unique from other people. Individuals formulating career development plans are motivated by the fact that they want to have references to rouse toward professional development and self-turn of events. My career development plan will aim at making a self-appraisal toward achieving my objectives. My main objective is to get an organization or an opportunity to work with a tech company within Canada to begin there as its chief executive officer before going global. Starting in a Canadian tech company will help me to have a place to launch my career and continue building a skill set that is valuable and, with time, upgrade to take the organization to a higher level. I aim to work in the tech industry in Saskatchewan, Canada. According to Khan (2023), the economy of Canada is among the world’s largest and is projected to hit 2.62 trillion US dollars by 2026. The Canadian skilled workers’ average annual salary is decently high, ranging between 54,600 to over 100,000 Canadian dollars. Saskatchewan is among the provinces in Canada that pay its employees well. The hourly salary for workers in Saskatchewan is 45.35 Canadian dollars, with 1701 and 88428 Canadian dollars paid to employees weekly and yearly, respectively (Khan, 2023). The table below shows the Canadian regions’ varying average salaries. The cost of living in each region is the most determinant of the salaries, although other factors impact how much pay or wage the employees get. The starts with the lowest paying to the highest paying region/province.

Province Salary per Hour (in CAD) Salary per Week (in CAD) Salary per Year (in CAD)
Nova Scotia 29 1,088 56,550
Quebec 29.49 1,106 57,506
Ontario 32.50 1,219 63,369
British Colombia 33.97 1,274 66,232
Alberta 38.07 1,428 74,237
Saskatchewan 45.35 1,701 88,428

The figure shows the Average Canadian provinces’ salary variations in CAD (Khan, 2023).

Additionally, in Saskatchewan, several job openings in the tech industry are full-time jobs that are well-paying, including in Devel tech company that needs a GIS technician, in Agrocorp Processing Ltd as a plant maintenance technician, and T CYNA tech solutions company as systems testing technician among others (GCT, 2023). Considering these job openings, the Canadian province of Saskatchewan is where I believe tech professionals can get great work deals.

I intend to start my career at Intuit Inc. branch in Saskatchewan. I can start as a software developer Co-op for the company because they offer it as a full-time job, and it can help me showcase my leadership skills and ability to run the organization at the top management or leadership positions. I will try my best to strive to understand and exceed or meet metrics on the customer service provision while driving customer satisfaction through email, voice or chatting on other social media platforms. There are promotional opportunities at Intuit Inc. because I can continue improving my networking skills. New doors can eventually open because of networking, especially in my career and personal growth. Talking about my experience while sharing pieces of advice with other employees within Intuit, I will gain new ideas and insights that I have never imagined. I will ensure I put myself out there to meet more people and gain more confidence to get new opportunities. I will ensure that my career aspirations are well-defined to create a roadmap to pave the way toward a successful career in the organization. In addition, I will earn myself professional certifications so that when I assume the senior-most position that I aspire to take, the CEO, I will not have any difficulties. Taking extra classes after completing my degree is not something I will find difficult because I intend to broaden my talents along with my client base. If any training opportunities are provided at Intuit, I will grab them to ensure that I build my skills for future aspirations that I have. The certificates that I have are enough to be promoted, but I will search for other opportunities to be trained on the specifics of the company, as it will be an added advantage during the promotion. It may take five years to get a promotion but to reach the senior position of CEO that I wish and may take 10-15 years or more.

Action Steps

First step

Apply and ensure that I am working/hired in my desired organization. I will apply for the current job openings to ensure I start working within the organization.

Second step

Work for about ten years and above, and I showcase my leadership skills. I will build my social relations by sharing my opinions with others within the organization while showing my interest and ability to become the CEO. As I work, my main focus will be gaining the skills required in my desired job, like emotional intelligence, effective communication, and monitoring, because they are essential for the job and are also listed as a requirement.

Third step

I will ensure that I have professional qualifications from the organization and make my intentions of becoming the CEO clear and known to everybody, including the current CEO. Doing this will enable everybody to embrace me as their future leader without struggling with the organizational change which can destroy the organization.

Barriers to Achieving My Goals and Objectives

Becoming a CEO in an organization requires me to be time conscious and portray other leadership skills without failing the people I am currently leading. Failure to take timing into consideration may fail me because every promotion can be a timing function since they are work performance centred. Since promotion may not be made on my side every time, the period that individuals are given to perform before they become a target of another promotion should not be wasted (Freeland, 2016). It may be a 2years period, and if my performance goes down, then it would limit my chances of reaching my desired job. Becoming an office gossip is another problem that can hinder my career trajectory. Although I may complete my tasks on time, being concerned with the job’s social aspects creates a huge problem with the executives. Being kind to every individual should be paramount because one may not know where their colleagues will be tomorrow (Freeland, 2016). Having bad company can also hinder my aspirations, and I should try to know whether my colleagues at work are engines or anchors. Anchors pull one down but having anchors around revitalizes and rejuvenates you. Failure to accept feedback is also a big issue that can hinder me from achieving my job dream. The organizations have reasons for establishing annual and biannual reviews (Freeland, 2016). They provide candid feedback that the employees and the executive can use to improve their overall job performance. Not accepting feedback means that the weak areas will likely be left without improvement but not adapting to the characteristic at hand (Freeland, 2016). It should be important for me to accept feedback and try to work closely with the managers and even the current CEO if I am unsure how improvements should be done.

In conclusion, this career development plan will be significant as it will be a roadmap to achieving my desired job. I have organized my career goals while identifying the pathway I will follow to achieve my goals and succeed in my career. This career development plan will improve my productivity and motivation because I am determined to achieve the set goals.
